Daily Devotional – Learn of Me

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28-30)

Are you learning of Jesus Christ as this scripture says? Do you know the scriptures? Are you ready to give account of the hope that is within you? “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15) “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” (2 Tim 2:24-26) The servant of the Lord should be ready to teach, instructing those that oppose themselves, but how can you teach what you do not know?

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Who is this Spirit of Christ but the Spirit of the LORD. Who is this Spirit of the LORD but the Spirit of Wisdom. Who is this Spirit of Wisdom but the Spirit of Understanding. Who is this Spirit of Understanding but the Spirit of Knowledge. Who is this Spirit of Knowledge but the Holy Spirit. Who is this Holy Spirit but the Comforter. Who is this Comforter but Jesus Christ. For God is a Spirit.

Daily Devotional – This is the rest

“For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.” (Isa 28:11-12)

Are you one that will not hear??? This is the Prophet Isaiah prophesying of the Holy Ghost that was going to be poured out when the day of Pentecost had fully come. “In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.” (1 Cor 14:21) The Prophet Joel prophesied concerning the Holy Ghost that was going to be poured out when the day of Pentecost had fully come saying, “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29) “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:” (Acts 2:16-18) When the Holy Ghost was poured out they all spoke with other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4)

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, EXCEPT a man be BORN of WATER and of the SPIRIT, he CANNOT enter into the KINGDOM OF GOD. That which is born of the FLESH is FLESH; and that which is born of the SPIRIT is SPIRIT.” (Jn 3:5-6)
