Daily Devotional – Faith works by Love

Faith works by love. (Gal 5:6c). The Lord said, If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Jn 14:15) We were also told let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. (1 Jn 3:18) Thus faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Don’t confuse the Mosaic law as the works of faith. For to have faith, one must produce actions of obedience.

Are you keeping the commandments as we are instructed in the New Testament? Is your love in word only? Or do you show forth your love in deed and in truth? Do you understand the difference of faith working by love with actions of obedience or are you confused that this is working for salvation when faith is made complete by her accompanying works?
