Daily Devotional – That Form of Doctrine

With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Thank you Lord for Repentance, Water Baptism in Jesus Name, and the indwelling Spirit of Christ evidenced by the speaking in another tongue as the Spirit gives the utterance, without which no man shall be saved. (Rom 10:10, 6:17-18, Acts 2:38; 4, Jn 3:5)

Did you know that one of the largest issues with Christianity is taking scriptures out of context while also ignoring other scriptures to keep the doctrine that is being taught? For salvation, most of the Christian world believes this is the plan of salvation. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Rm 10:9-10) However, just 4 chapters earlier it was said to these same people, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” (Rm 6:17-18) The beginning of Romans chapter 6 discusses in detail that form of doctrine obeyed from the heart as being buried with Jesus Christ in water baptism. (Rm 6:3-9) So later these same people who were obedient from the heart to that form of doctrine delivered to them, were told that with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The plan of Salvation that the Apostle Paul referred to was “…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) The Apostle Paul not being taught this gospel by man but God (Gal 1:11) also taught the same plan of salvation saying, “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” (Acts 19:4-6)
