Daily Devotional – That Form of Doctrine

With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Thank you Lord for Repentance, Water Baptism in Jesus Name, and the indwelling Spirit of Christ evidenced by the speaking in another tongue as the Spirit gives the utterance, without which no man shall be saved. (Rom 10:10, 6:17-18, Acts 2:38; 4, Jn 3:5)

Did you know that one of the largest issues with Christianity is taking scriptures out of context while also ignoring other scriptures to keep the doctrine that is being taught? For salvation, most of the Christian world believes this is the plan of salvation. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Rm 10:9-10) However, just 4 chapters earlier it was said to these same people, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” (Rm 6:17-18) The beginning of Romans chapter 6 discusses in detail that form of doctrine obeyed from the heart as being buried with Jesus Christ in water baptism. (Rm 6:3-9) So later these same people who were obedient from the heart to that form of doctrine delivered to them, were told that with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The plan of Salvation that the Apostle Paul referred to was “…Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) The Apostle Paul not being taught this gospel by man but God (Gal 1:11) also taught the same plan of salvation saying, “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” (Acts 19:4-6)

Daily Devotional – O Give me of this Cup of Life to Drink

O Give me of this Cup of Life to Drink!! Pour out your Spirit upon me! This Cup of Life that sets me free from the bondage of Death that satan had over me. The Cup of Life where grace is free, to all of them that have an ear and obey. For I am athirst and the Water of Life is free, to every man whosoever he be, that calls upon the name of the Lord and will serve Him not only in word but in deed.

If it weren’t for the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we would all still be in bondage! “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” (Jn 4:10) “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (Jn 7:38-39) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” (Heb 2:14) “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” (Titus 2:11-12) “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev 22:17) “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:22-25)

Daily Devotional – Bind us together in Love

Bind us together Lord! Bind us together in Love that we may be One as You and your Father are One! For this was Your Prayer Lord. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (Jn 17:21) That they be Perfect in One! Unity of the Lord; that Precious Oil from Above. A Sweet Smelling Savor in the nostrils of our King!!

Did you know charity, which is love, is the bond of perfectness? “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” (Col 3:14) Do you know how we become One in Jesus even as the Father is in Jesus and Jesus in the Father? By the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost, which gives us access to the body of Christ. “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” (1 Cor 12:13) One in truth, One in name, One in Spirit and One in body. Jesus is God and Jesus is one with God in truth, in name, in body, and in Spirit. We become one in Jesus by the truth when we receive the Holy Ghost or the Spirit of Truth. This Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost, gives us access to the body of Christ of which we become “members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” (Eph 5:30) Perfect in One! Unity of the Lord, a Sweet Smelling Savor in the nostrils of our King!! For we have become “partakers of the divine nature”. (2 Peter 1:4) The Holy anointing oil, that ran down the first High Priest Aaron’s beard, typifying the Holy Ghost (Psa 133:1-3) now indwelling each member of the Body of Jesus Christ.

Daily Devotional – The Church is the Body

The Church is the Body. The Church is the Assembling. The Secret place of the Most High. Where the Body rejoices in the Mighty Tower. The Head of the corner of the foundation of the Apostles and the Prophets. Why would you die when I say to you Live?

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” (1 Cor 12:27) “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Heb 10:25) “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psa 91:1) “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Pro 18:10) “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:” (Eph 2:20-21) “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (Ezek 33:11)

Daily Devotional – Repentance and Remission of Sins should be Preached in His Name

“And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to SUFFER, and to RISE from the DEAD the THIRD day: And that REPENTANCE and REMISSION of SINS should be PREACHED in HIS NAME among ALL NATIONS, beginning at JERUSALEM. And ye are WITNESSES of these things. And, behold, I send the PROMISE of my FATHER upon YOU: but TARRY ye in the city of JERUSALEM, until ye be ENDUED with POWER from on HIGH.” (Lk 24:46-49)

After the resurrection of Jesus Christ he told his disciples to preach repentance and remission of sin in his name beginning at Jerusalem. They were to go to Jerusalem to wait for the promise of the Holy Ghost being poured out upon them so that they could begin teaching the born again process of God, the plan of salvation for all of mankind. When the day of Pentecost was fully come the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the believers. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4) This was noised abroad and the Apostle Peter with the other eleven Apostles told everyone, including you and I, how we are to be born again. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Notice that “repentance and remission of sins” was preached “beginning at Jerusalem” after they had been “endued with power” of the Holy Ghost and that “repentance and remission of sins” was “preached in his name”. “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Saying “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

Have you been born again according to the scriptures you just read? It was for “even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Are you called? This is the only way to be born again and to enter into the kingdom of God.

Daily Devotional – He was Cut Off out of the Land of the Living

“All we like SHEEP have gone ASTRAY; we have TURNED every one to his OWN way; and the LORD hath LAID on HIM the INIQUITY of us ALL. He was OPPRSSEDd, and he was AFFLICTED, yet he OPENED NOT his MOUTH: he is brought as a LAMB to the SLAUGHTER, and as a SHEEP before her shearers is DUMB, so he OPENETH NOT his MOUTH. He was TAKEN from PRISON and from JUDGMENT: and WHO shall DECLARE HIS generation? for HE WAS CUT OFF OUT OF THE LAND OF THE LIVING: for the TRANSGRESSION of MY people was he STRICKEN.” (Isa 53:6-8)

Did you know that this passage of scripture is speaking of the Messiah that was to come? Did you know the word Messiah means anointed? Most of the Jews do not believe that their prophesied Messiah has come yet? In the book of Daniel the Messiah is prophesied about again but most of the Jews believe this word Messiah should have been translated anointed believing it refers to Cyrus king of Peria. “Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;” (Isaiah 45:1) The prophecy of Daniel reads, “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (Dan 9:25-27) It was Cyrus that made the decree. “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.” (2 Chron 36:22-23) However, if you look closer at the prophecy of Daniel you will see that it is not speaking of Cyrus king of Persia but of Jesus the Messiah. Notice the same wording from Daniel and Isaiah. “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary”. This Messiah was “cut off” even as spoken in Isaiah concerning the Messiah. “He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” (Isa 53:8) The significance of this is huge as the Prophet Daniel is prophesying how many years it would be before the prophesied Messiah was to come it was also prophesying of a covenant that would leave seven years left unfulfilled which would be referring to the time of the end better known as the tribulation period even though the tribulation is actually the last three and one half years. If you do away with this passage of scripture, you not only do not see that Jesus is the Messiah in reference but you also don’t see that there are seven years left to fulfill and thus you would not be looking for what has been termed the seven year tribulation period of which is actually only three and one half years long. When speaking with a Jewish believer of the Old Testament that doesn’t believe their Messiah has come this is the additional proof they need that God could use to open their eyes. In both places “shall Messiah be cut off” “for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” (Isa 53:8)

Daily Devotional – Behold my Hands and my Feet

Why are ye TROUBLED? and why do THOUGHTS arise in your HEARTS? Behold my HANDS and my FEET, that it is I myself: HANDLE me, and SEE; for a SPIRIT hath not FLESH and BONES, as ye SEE me have. Have ye here any MEAT? And they GAVE him a PIECE of a broiled FISH, and of an HONEYCOMB. And he TOOK it, and did EAT before them. Text from: (Lk 24:38-39, 41-43)

Did you know that flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God? That you must be born again? “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.” (1 Cor 15:50) “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Rm 8:9-11) “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.” (1 Cor 15:53-54)

Daily Devotional – This is the Record

This is the record God has given to us, eternal life. There are 3 that bear witness in earth of this record: Spirit, water, blood. There are 3 that bear record in heaven of this record of eternal life God has given us: Father, Word, Holy Ghost. These three are one God who’s name is Jesus.

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” (1 Jn 5:11) “And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” (1 Jn 5:8) “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 Jn 5:7) “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mt 1:23) “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one Lord:” (Deut 6:4) “And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (Jn 17:26) Eternal Life fulfilled in Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Daily Devotional – By God’s Grace we have Access to Salvation

By God’s GRACE we have access to SALVATION. By our FAITH in God’s GRACE we then become OBEDIENT to how we OBTAIN Salvation. Which is being born of WATER and of the SPIRIT, which is REPENTANCE, WATER BAPTISM by IMMERSION in JESUS NAME for the REMISSION of SINS, and then you shall RECEIVE the GIFT of the HOLY GHOST.

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” (Titus 2:11-13) “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Rm 5:1-2) “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (Jn 3:5) “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)

Daily Devotional – But he was Wounded for our Transgressions

He is DESPISED and REJECTED of men; a man of SORROWS, and ACQUAINTED with GRIEF: and we HID as it were our FACES from HIM; he was DESPISED, and we ESTEEMED him not. Surely he hath BORNE our GRIEFS, and CARRIED our SORROWS: yet we did ESTEEM him STRICKEN, SMITTEN of God, and AFFLICTED. But he was WOUNDED for our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our INIQUITIES: the CHASTISEMENT of our PEACE was upon HIM; and with his STRIPES we are HEALED.” (Isa 53:3-5)

Did you know that when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden that the devil gained the power of death over mankind? Did you know that was what Christ came to take back? “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Heb 2:14-15)
