Daily Devotional – When Wisdom Entereth into thine Heart

“My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.” (Pro 5:1-2) “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee. To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things.” (Pro 2:10-12)

When is the last time you prayed and sought God for wisdom and understanding? Is Godly knowledge pleasant to your soul? Do you know to whom God will teach knowledge? “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” (Isa 28:9-10) This is how the entire Bible is set up. You must pray and seek God for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15)

Daily Devotional – What you Believe Determines your Behavior to a Given Situation

What you believe determines your behavior to a given situation. You CAN NOT change how others behave, but you can change how you respond to their behavior.

Have you exercised your freedom of choice to behave yourself in a righteous, upright manner when dealing with other people’s behavior? What you believe if you are a Christian should reflect the Bible of which you learn of Christ’s behavior and teaching. “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Mt 5:44-48)

Daily Devotional – Who is a Wise Man and Endued with Knowledge

“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” (James 3:13-18)

How do you measure up to the wisdom that is from above? Godly wisdom “is first pure”! Is holy producing righteousness, uprightness, and virtue within those who possess it. Then peaceable! Godly wisdom is peaceable! “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” (Rm 14:19) “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Heb 12:14) Godly wisdom is gentle, mild, moderate! Godly wisdom is easy to be intreated, persuaded, and compliant! As long as it fully aligns up with the scriptures! Godly wisdom is full of mercy! “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Eph 4:32) Godly wisdom is full of good fruits! “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” (Phil 1:11) Godly wisdom is without partiality! “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” (James 2:9) Godly wisdom is without hypocrisy! “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Lk 6:46) “And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” (Jms 3:18)

Daily Devotional – To be Spiritually Minded

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” (Pro 14:27) “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Rms 8:6-8)

Are you a spiritually minded person? To be a spiritually minded person you must first have the Holy Spirit. Do you have the Holy Spirit evidenced with the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance according to scripture? “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” (Rm 8:9) It is vitally important to know if you have the Holy Spirit. These believers in Jesus Christ who were baptized didn’t have the Holy Spirit until the Apostles laid hands on them and prayed that they would receive it. “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)” (Acts 8:14-16) The sign that you have received the Holy Spirit is the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance as was prophesied. “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.” (Isa 28:11-12) “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:3-4)

“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.” (Mk 10:6-8)

From the beginning of the creation God, God made them male and female. You are either male or female and this is not by your choice but by God’s choice, for his purpose, for his pleasure, for his glory, and according to his desire. It is not according to your carnal mind and wicked devices.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” (Rm 1:18-32)

It isn’t by accident that the homosexual community chose the rainbow as their emblem. They chose it because they which commit such things who knowing the judgment of God that they are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. These are people who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. People who do not like to retain God in their knowledge so God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. These are haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, and inventors of evil. This is why they are so bold, boastful, and love to declare gay pride why using the rainbow which is the token of the covenant of God’s promise between God and man and beast that he will not destroy the world by water after the judgment of God was poured out in the days of Noah. These lovers of self carry about and flaunt this token of God’s promise knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them as the scripture says.

However, you do not have to live in that lifestyle as God can set you free as also seen in scripture. “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Cor 6:9-11)

Daily Devotional – The Knowledge of the Holy

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Pro 1:7) “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Pro 9:10) “For it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Heb 10:31)

God is a God of love. However, God is also a God of Justice. God is also a holy God, a righteous God, and a God of equity. Is instruction and wisdom far from you? Do you have better things to do with your time than to learn the ways of God? How much time do you spend in prayer and communication to God? How much time do you spend fulfilling what God desires of you to do for others? How much time do you spend learning what you ought to be doing? Do you really believe God is going to save you? “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” (Mt 7:21-24)

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Daily Devotional – I will Teach you the Fear of the LORD

“Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will TEACH you the FEAR of the LORD. What MAN is he that DESIRETH life, and LOVETH many days, that he may SEE good? KEEP thy TONGUE from EVIL, and thy LIPS from SPEAKING GUILE. Depart from EVIL, and do GOOD; seek PEACE, and PURSUE it.” (Psa 34:11-14)

Were you aware that your tongue is an unruly evil? That life and death are in the power of the tongue? That the tongue is untamable? “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” (Jms 3:8) “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Pro18:20-21) Jesus said, “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Mt 12:36-37) As the Psalmist said, “What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.”

Come let us Grow Together: Television

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

The Television is something that today is virtually accessible to everyone. However, the content that is on the Television whether through the commercials, the movie, sitcom, or whatever program you may be viewing can be extremely detrimental to your soul and your walk with Jesus Christ. The content on the Television is highly provocative, sensual, full of filthy language, and imagery. It is extremely difficult to find anything on the Television that isn’t full of filthy content. Even if you do find something that isn’t the commercials are. In this day and age with the accessibility to digital content in one form or another it virtually eliminates the topic of the Television or cable programming as it can be purchased from a variety of sources and used on a variety of devices. Even so “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thess 5:22) You are in a spiritual battle fighting “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph 6:12)

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 Jn 2:15-17) “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim 2:19) “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” (Gal 5:24-25)

As Christians we too desire entertainment. However, if you don’t watch you will waste all your time pursuing entertainment versus following after Christ and reaching out to lost souls in need of salvation. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) The Holy Ghost gives you power! Power also to be his witness! “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15” This requires studying the Bible and understanding sound doctrine and then when asked questions concerning our faith being able to answer it. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Cor 6:17-7:1)

These are commandments we are reading. This is not maybe I will and maybe I won’t. This is if you don’t you don’t love Jesus Christ and if you don’t love Jesus Christ you will not be saved and if you are not saved you are the enemies of God and will be cast into hellfire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Are you trying to scare me? I’m trying to wake you up to truth! “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (Jn 14:15) “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Mt 10:28) “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Heb 10:31) To believe otherwise is foolish!
