C & C: He ever Liveth to make Intercession

2 Thessalonians 2:13
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Hebrews 2:14-17
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Lets begin our teaching on the Gift of Grace. “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32) The very first thing we have just learned is that grace is able to build us up. Unlike guilt which will tear you down. This is because the Law brought forth guilt and condemnation, whereas grace brings forth justification of life.

Romans 3:19
19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Romans 5:15-19
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

However we also learned from Acts 20:32 that grace will also give an inheritance to all them which are sanctified. So the first thing we better find out is how does one become sanctified?

“Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrews 10:9-10) “For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.” (Hebrews 13:11-12)

Here we learn that we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ as well as the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Hebrews 10:19-23)

Here we learn that to be sanctified we need our bodies washed with pure water. We also learn that this is where the blood of Jesus Christ is applied to our lives and that our sins are remitted. “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.” (Hebrews 10:16-18) “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) So after repenting of our sins we find that it is in the water baptism in Jesus name that we are sanctified and cleansed by the washing of water by the word. “And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” (Acts 22:16)

Romans 15:15-16
15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

So now we have learned how one becomes sanctified. We are sanctified by the Blood of Jesus Christ and the receiving of the Holy Ghost. This is very important. Recall: Acts 20:32 “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” This means that the Gift of Grace which is able to build you up, allows you to gain access to the inheritance, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ by the Gift of the Holy Ghost, which we have found is needed to be sanctified. To be sanctified, one must be born again of water and of the Spirit as Jesus has told us in John 3:1-7, which is fulfilled in Acts 2:38-39. It is essential for you to repent and be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins and it is a promise that you will receive the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will come into you with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.

Again we learn, as seen from 2 Thessalonians 2:13 above, that we are sanctified by the receiving of the Holy Ghost. So then, we now see that we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ as well as the shed blood of Jesus Christ wherein we are sanctified and cleansed by the washing of water by the word when we repent of our sins and are baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins, as well as the receiving of the Holy Ghost.

Recall Acts 20:32 which reads “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” Now that we fully understand how the process of sanctification takes place we can now better understand how the gift of grace, which is able to build you up, allows you to gain access to the inheritance, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, let’s find out how those that are sanctified access the grace of God which in turn allows them access to the “inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you”. (1 Peter 1:4)

“For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” (Galatians 5:5) “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2)

Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Galatians 5:5
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Romans 10:4-5
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

James 2:10-13
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Romans 3:19-26

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Since we all have sinned and fell short of the Glory of God, God sent Jesus Christ the Righteous, to be a reconciliation between God and man seeing how He ever Liveth to make Intercession for us. Now by our obedience of faith and partaking of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, we now have access by faith in His blood unto God’s grace wherein we now stand. Being then justified freely by his grace we have the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We are a Purchased Possession. Bought with the Price of the Blood of Jesus Christ!!!

Ephesians 1:12-14
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The redemption of the purchased possession is our gathering together to Him in what we call the rapture, where we will meet the Lord in the air and be forever with Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

So those who have the Spirit, which is the Holy Ghost, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, and therefore being justified by faith, have access by their faith into grace, wherein we stand. “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” (Romans 5:3-6) “To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” (Galatians 4:5-7) Being set free from the law we now have become sons of God again by the spirit of adoption. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Romans 8:14-17)

“John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” (John 1:15-17)

Hebrews 7:1-28
7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

This is so very important to understand. Abraham paid tithes to Melchisedec. This was done before the Mosaic Law was instituted. Tithing was being instituted here. Outside of the Mosaic Law. This Melchisedec was God….

3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Notice that it says that He was made like unto the Son of God and abides a priest continually. This is because He is God. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life. Now listen to what is spoken…

4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

The sons of Levi was the tribe that God established the priesthood with under the Mosaic Law. They were commanded to take tithes of the people according to the law.

6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

Pay special attention to what was spoken in verse 6. But He (Melchisedec) who was not of the Levitical priesthood received tithes of Abraham. This being before the Law was instituted.

7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

Verse 7 is saying without contradiction the less (Abraham who had the promises of God) is blessed of the better. (Melchisedec who was God.)

8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

Notice here in verse 8 that it says and here men that die receive tithes (Levitical priesthood) but He (Melchisedec) received them, of whom it is witnessed that He lives. This is because He is God; without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life.

9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Notice here in verses 9 and 10 that it is said that the Levitical priesthood paid tithes to Melchisedec while in the loins of Abraham his father.

11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

There are two orders. The order of Aaron and the order of Melchisedec. Jesus Christ was after the order of Melchisedec and not after the order of Aaron. But both orders of priesthood received tithes. Thus tithing is to be paid because Jesus Christ is after the order of Melchisedec and Abraham our father paid tithes to Him as well as the Levitical priesthood though they were in the loins of their father Abraham at that time.

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

With the promise of a New Covenant there was made of necessity a change also of the priesthood. Our Lord, who came after the order of Melchisedec, came out of the tribe of Juda and not out of the tribe of Levi.

15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, (this being Jesus Christ)
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Jesus Christ was in the similitude of Melchisedec. Remember from verse 2 above that Melchisedec is “by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;” Just as we know that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.

Also Jesus Christ had the power of an endless life just as Melchisedec from verse 4 we learned was also without end of life as well as verse 8 “it is witnessed that he liveth.”

18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

John 2:18-22
18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

What we learn from this is that there are 2 orders of priesthood. That of Melchisedec and that of Aaron. Jesus Christ was after the order of Melchisedec. Both orders received tithes. And since Jesus Christ is after this order of Melchisedec we also are to pay tithes because both orders received tithes.

Remember that when you pay tithes, you are not tithing unto men but unto God.

Hebrews 13:8
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Malachi 3:8-11
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

1 Corinthians 9:9-14
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

It’s time to stop robbing God of His tithes and offerings!! Tithing is taught in the New Testament as Jesus is of the order of Melchisedec which was before the Mosaic Law.

John 1:15-17

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Romans 4:2-8
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not ascertained by grace, but of debt.

Meaning that to him that works the reward is a debt owed for his labor instead of being freely given by God’s grace without works.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

So we obtain righteousness not by our works, but by obedience and by believing on God that justifies the ungodly. This person, who has been obedient unto God and has believed on Jesus Christ whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, (to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,) this person, God forgives their iniquities and does not impute sin to them, but instead as the Justifier of many, He imputes righteousness unto you, remembering your sins no more.

Romans 4:13-25
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Even though righteousness is not obtained by works, we have learned that it is obtained by obedience.

Romans 6:16
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

We also have learned that righteousness is obtained by believing on God that justifies the ungodly. Therefore being justified by faith it is highly important to realize that faith without works is dead. It is our obedience of faith that leads unto righteousness.

Romans 1:5-6
5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

James 2:20-23
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Apostle James has given us clear instructions on how the scripture was fulfilled which said that Abraham believed God. Just as our father Abraham applied his faith with obedience in believing God concerning the promise he was given through his seed, we too must be obedient to believing on God that justifieth the ungodly, as the scripture has told us. Abraham showed his obedient faith by placing his only son Isaac on an altar to slay him as God commanded him, whereas we today are obedient to God as Jesus Christ has told us to be born again of water and of the Spirit, which will then lead to a life of separation, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. This person’s faith is counted for righteousness.

Romans 5:10-19
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

The atonement of Christ was the reconciliation between God and man when Jesus Christ became our sacrifice for sins and made a way for us to partake of His righteousness through our obedient faith unto Him. This is accomplished by applying Acts 2:38 in your life, wherein you partake of the born again experience of water and of the Spirit and thus the New Testament Covenant, (brought by Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection,) is fulfilled. This fulfillment restores sonship that was lost by the first Adam. The second Adam being Jesus Christ.

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

That figure of Him that was to come was Jesus Christ.

15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

What you are reading is the moving away from condemnation that was brought forth by sin, to justification unto life that was brought forth by Jesus Christ.

17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Even though Jesus Christ never sinned, He became sin for us, that through His death sin might be destroyed. Thus allowing those who obey Him to partake of the born again process of God and to then become a new creature in Christ.

Colossians 1:19-23
19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Set free from the Law of Sin and Death by the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus!!

Romans 8:1-18
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

This is why we must born of the Spirit, otherwise we are none of His.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Righteousness that was imputed to your charge without the works of the Mosaic Law.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

We must not continue in sin, for if you live after the flesh, you will surely die!!

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

We will be joint-heirs with Christ. Everything that is His will be ours!!

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Praise God!! What Precious Promises we have in God!! What Precious Gifts God has given unto us!! O How Precious is the Blood!!??!!

Hebrews 10:1-4; 14
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

This process of justification wherein God the justifier of many has given the free gift of grace that reigns through the free gift of righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord, has forever purged us from condemnation and guilt concerning our conscience and has forever perfected the conscience of them that are sanctified, (which are those who have been born again by partaking of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection), and has set us free of the law of sin and death.

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins”. (Hebrews 10:26) “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)

So we see that it is very important once we come to the knowledge of the truth, to not purposefully and intentionally go on sinning. But instead we are to put our flesh to death concerning sin, and obey righteousness unto Life.

Seeing how He ever Liveth to make Intercession

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) “According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.” (Ephesians 3:11-12) ” Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16)

So when you fall into temptation and sin, don’t let the devil or yourself, begin to condemn you or to begin to give you a guilt trip. Instead apply the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit! Come Boldly unto the throne of grace with full assurance, for He is Faithful and Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Remember, there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Those who truly are following the grace of God will deny themselves ungodliness and worldly lusts, and will live soberly, righteously, and Godly, in this present world. They will be watching for the blessed hope of Jesus Christ’s return and will become zealous of good works.

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren“. (Hebrews 2:9-11)

So to fulfill being sanctified as well as justified by God through Jesus Christ, one must be born again of water and of the Spirit as Jesus has instructed us in John 3:1-7. Therefore you must be born again of water and of the Spirit, according to Acts 2:38-39 which reads, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.“

Understanding Sanctification and the Process thereof

In order for you to partake of this sanctification process given to us by God you must believe and obey the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the preaching of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 16:25-26
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

It is through the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection that we have access to the born again process of God. Which consists of being born of water and of the Spirit.

Luke 13:5
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Luke 24:46-47
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The sanctification process of God, as well as being born again of water and of the Spirit as Jesus instructed Nicodemus, and the preaching of repentance and remission of sins beginning at Jerusalem in Jesus’ name all find there fulfillment in the Apostle Peter’s words:

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 2:38 is the fulfilling of the New Testament Covenant of God:

Hebrews 10:16-18
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Hebrews 10:14
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

It Takes More than a Willingness of Mind to accomplish for the kingdom of God. There must first be a willingness but then there must also be a performance of what you have set your mind to do. If God has laid it on your heart it is going to take more than a willingness of mind to see it accomplished. You are going to have to put forth works with your faith to see the performance and accomplishment of what it is that you have either committed yourself to or whatever God has laid upon your heart to do. There are many cases that God will lay upon your heart things that you have prayed about and are answered but you must have more than a willingness of mind to perform these tasks as in many cases these tasks are ongoing. There isn’t a stopping point until God either changes it or you die. Your prayers for what you sought may be answered completely different than what you had anticipated but nevertheless the call has been answered according to God’s will and know there must be a performing of the work that you have prayed for. Whether it is an ongoing work or something that has an ending It Takes More than a Willingness of Mind.

When God calls you to Pastor a work this is an ongoing performance. When God calls you to preach the gospel, this is an ongoing performance. All Christians have been called to be soul winners. This too is an ongoing performance. Now when you pray and God answers with a work you can do to win souls whether it is what you expected or not you must put forth the works with faith to see the performance of it to completion if it is that type of work or you must put forth the works with faith to see the performance of it if it is an ongoing work of which are many works that the Lord answers your prayers with.

Exodus 35:4-10
4 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,
5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,
7 And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shittim wood,
8 And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,
9 And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.
10 And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;

A willing heart and a willing mind is what the Lord is seeking. However, God will answer your prayers in his own way and in his own time and it will be according to your several ability. “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” (Mt 25:14-15) However, you must have more than a willing heart and a willing mind to see the performance of what God has called forth for you to do. Whether it is cleaning the Church, lawn maintenance, fund raisers, or various soul winning outreach efforts that you can become part of there must be a performance of what you had a willingness of heart or mind to accomplish for the Lord.

Nehemiah 2:1-6
1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.
2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,
3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.
6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

Nehemiah 2:16-18
16 And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.
17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

It wasn’t enough that Nehemiah had a willingness of heart and of mind for the work, but he had to put forth works with his faith to see a performance of the rebuilding of the work to restore Jerusalem.

Acts 17:10-12
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Notice carefully that those of Berea “that they received the word with all readiness of mind“. However, they didn’t stop there as it isn’t enough to have a readiness of mind even as it is not enough to “a readiness to will” as we read above concerning the performance of the work of gathering together of the Churches for the poor saints at Jerusalem. “For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.” (Rm 15:26) Those of Berea acted upon their faith with works of searching “the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Because of this “many of them believed“.

It Takes More than a Willingness of Mind, a Willingness of Heart, a Readiness of mind, and a readiness to will! It takes the putting forth of works with faith to see the performance of what God has called forth for you to do.

Do you have a Willingness of Mind, a Willingness of Heart, a Readiness of mind, and a readiness to will? If not, then you are not going to accomplish much for the kingdom of God. You also must have buried your talents as well if there isn’t even a Willingness of Mind, a Willingness of Heart, a Readiness of mind, and a readiness to will.

However, if you do have a Willingness of Mind then you must be ready to put forth the works of faith to see the performance. You must be willing to serve others! You must be willing to submit to the divine order of God! You must keep your body, mind, soul, and spirit under subjection to God! You must give up your life for the service of the kingdom of God!

It Takes More than a Willingness of Mind, a Willingness of Heart, a Readiness of mind, and a readiness to will! It takes a Willingness to put forth the works of faith necessary to see the performance of the work thereof to either completion or to the ongoing process that God has given to you to accomplish.

The Harvest is Ripe

You could say who am I? I am nobody. But don’t stop there. Speak the truth to yourself. Instead say I am nobody in myself, but I am not alone. I am a child of God! I am a child of the King! I walk by faith and not by sight. It’s not by my power, nor by my might, but by the Lord’s Spirit. One man plants another man waters but it is the Lord that brings the increase. Let us work together. Let us labour together for the glory of God. It’s not about me. It’s not about you. But it’s about the Body fulfilling the commandment of God as being his arms. And being his legs. And being the Light on the hill that can not be hid. It’s about being that city that can’t be hid. It’s about being the Salt of the Earth. It’s about reaching out to the lost. It’s about working while it’s still day, because the night comes when no man can work!!

Every little thing helps.

Cultivate it and watch the Lord grow it!! Labour over it in your tears! Labour over it in your love! Labour over it through your prayers!! Labour over it with works with your faith!!

There are ministries that you can get involved with on a much larger scale.

One could buy a church van or a church bus and take care of the cost and maintenance of the vehicle for the glory of God. By taking on this responsibility of the expense, you then bless not only the Church with many souls for the glory of God that you reach out to, but you also relieve the Church from this expense which can then be used elsewhere in the Church for the glory of God. It is this kind of spirit and attitude we need. It is this kind of heart that says, what can I do for the kingdom of God and then prays and fasts about it and waits upon the Lord to give you direction that we need. It is this saint of God that we are looking for each person of the Church of the Living God to become!!

There are no little jobs in the kingdom of God.

We are all the Body of Christ. And if we were all the eye, where would the hearing be. If we were all the ear, then where would the smelling be. We must have this kind of heart and this kind of mind set to be the most successful we can individually be in the kingdom of God. Remember he that is greatest in the kingdom of God, let him be servant of all. We must desire to serve. And we must desire to serve for the right reasons. And we must desire to serve out of an honest and good heart keeping the Word of God and producing fruit with patience over time.

We are in this for life!! We are lifers!! We are not going anywhere!! We are here to stay!! For the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church of whom we are!! We must reach out for the lost with ferocity. We must reach out to the lost with the truth!! We must get knowledgeable in the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth!!

Let us labour together!! Let us strive together for the mastery of the kingdom of God! Let us go on to perfection!! Let us bind together in the bond of perfectness. Let us be full of Charity for the glory of God!!

In the kingdom of God it doesn’t matter if you are deaf, or if you are blind, or if you are not able to get around very well in this natural body that we have.

But what matters is are you reaching out to the lost in the midst of your trials, tribulations and persecutions. What matters is how can you reach out to the lost despite of your dilemma. How can I overcome my situation and be a blessing to the kingdom of God in reaching out for lost souls is the question?

AND GOD NOT ONLY HAS THE ANSWER, BUT HE IS THE ANSWER!! GOD WILL SUPPLY THE WAY AND HE WILL OPEN THE DOOR!! THE QUESTION IS, WILL YOU PICK UP THE SUPPLIES HE HAS GIVEN TO YOU AND WALK THROUGH THE OPEN DOOR?

Let us be kingdom minded. Let us pick up the weapons of our warfare that God has given to us and let us work together in unity for the glory of God.

Is Christ divided? Nay, but Christ is One Body tempered together with no schism within it. We are labourers of the Lord!! We are the Lord’s husbandmen!! We are the Lord’s building!! But careful how each man builds thereupon for no other foundation can be laid than that which is laid!!

It is not about stepping stones. Nor is it about one foot here and one foot there.

It is about what ever God has allowed of you to do, or whatever God has gifted you to do, or whatever God has called for you to do, to do it with all of your might as unto the Lord!! Let us work together for the glory of God.

If all were the Navy, where would be the Army? If all were the Army? Where would be the Air force? If all were the infantry, where would be the calvary? If all were the calvary, where would be the artillery? And if these units did not work together in unity as for a common goal, where would be the victory?

So it is for the kingdom of God.

We are not units of our own accord and we are not labourers for our own personal goals and agendas. But we are a Body of believers strategically placed throughout the world by the King of kings and we have a common purpose to reach out to the lost as a united force.

Inside of this Body God has called forth Apostles, and he has called forth Prophets, and he has called forth Evangelists, and he has called forth Pastors and he has called forth Teachers. This five fold ministry is the God called, God placed, leaders that are called for “the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:12-16)

We have some Generals, we have some Colonels, we have some Lieutenants, we have some Captains, we have some Sergeants, for the perfecting of the soldiers, for the work of the mission, for the benefit of the nation: till we all come in the unity of motion, and of the knowledge of our portion, unto a perfect soldier, unto the measure of the working of every part: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in harmony.

But none of this is possible if we work alone and not as a unified Body of believers working for the common objective of reaching out for lost and dying souls with the goal being saving them from a devils hell that they might have life and peace both in this world and the world to come.

Luke 13:6-9
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Luke 3:9
9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 8:15
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

We are the dresser of his vineyard and we must do all that we can do that the tree be not cut down and cast into the fire; but rather by labouring, digging, and dunging the tree that it will then begin to produce fruit. We must do all that we can do to help the tree to become that which is upon the good ground.

Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Jude 1:3-4
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude 1:22-23
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

2 Timothy 2:23-26
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

We are ambassadors for Christ!!

As such we must be ready to bring forth the plan of salvation, zealous of good works, contending for the faith with meekness of wisdom, saving some with compassion and others with fear, pulling them out of the fire! For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Acts 9:36-41
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

1 Corinthians 16:13-16

John 13:13-17
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Colossians 3:23-25
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

We are the servants of our Master Jesus Christ!!

If we be servants then we ought to serve with all joyfulness of heart, gladness of heart, and humbleness of heart for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works and happy are we if we do them! Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light and whatsoever we do, let us do it heartily, as to the Lord Christ.

Heb 11_1

2 Corinthians 5:1-11
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.“ (Rev 16:15)

4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.” (Phil 1:21-24)

5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Romans 8:18-21

The resurrection of life or what is more commonly known as the rapture.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Romans 8:22-28
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

This promise is “to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose“. If this is you, because this gospel is to every one the believes, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rm 1:16) then you must be born again of water and of the Spirit according to Acts 2:38-39, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” So if you are called, then you must be obedient unto salvation. “Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.” (Rm 16:25-27)

Mark 13:33-37
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Matthew 25:1-46
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

How to Respond to Heretics and Those that Oppose Themselves According to the Bible

Titus 3:8-11
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

As we see from this passage of scriptures at verse eight “that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.” This is followed by God given instruction that we are to “avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.” It is so very important that you hear these words and obey them. We are to avoid both foolish questions and contentions as the teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ and we are told why. “they are unprofitable and vain.” Then we were told some extremely important words to hear concerning the people we are teaching “A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.”

So after you admonish someone the first or even the second time we are to reject such a one as a heretic knowing that such a one is subverted, which means to pervert, and that they are sinning and are condemned of their own self! You are not to debate with them. You are to reject such a one because the truth is not in them and this is unprofitable and vain.

The people that are doing this are heretics and they are perverted and they are sinning and it is there very words that are condemning them. “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” (Mt 12:35-37)

These people will be used by satan to try their best to provoke you into answering them and will continue to harass you and cause you to waste your time in fruitless debating with them while you could be witnessing to someone else who desires to hear. Also knowing this “In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.” (Prov 10:19)

This is why you should always pray before answering anyone’s questions that comment to your Biblical posts. You should be praying on how God would have you to answer, whether or not to answer, and whether or not to delete the comments from those that you have already admonished the first and even the second time that is sinning being heretics and perverted. Also if they are speaking filthy language, off colored comments, or racist comments you should delete those posts as they are ungodly and unfruitful to the readers who wish to learn the truth of the Word of God. If God lays it on your heart to reply to them and let them know that you deleted their post because of their language those that are sincerely seeking Jesus Christ and truth will receive with the understanding that when they comment they need to do so in reverence and respect before God Almighty.

This is the will of God as we just read from the Word of God. However, we are also instructed in the Bible:

2 Timothy 2:22-26
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Again you see how we are to respond to those who oppose themselves. We are told why we are to avoid “foolish and unlearned questions” “knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive”. We are also instructed in what manner we are to teach, “be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth” “that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

All scripture must work together. So we as teachers of the gospel must be sure that we are identifying who are heretics being condemned of themselves and sinning by their own words; while also not striving with them, being gentle, patient, and answering in meekness “instructing those that oppose themselves”. If perhaps God “will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

These people may or may not even know that they are being taken captive by the devil by his own will to come against you. This is again why you are to reject a heretic after the first and second admonition and should not be calling them names, but rather praying for their souls that God would save them from the snare of the devil and that they would desire to learn of God and His righteousness. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Mt 5:6) This is also why Jesus said “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mark 4:9b) “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” (Mt 15:13-14) Jesus also told some “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (Jn 8:44)

You should not be using the Word of God to attack those that oppose themselves or those that are heretics as this is not what we are instructed to do as teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ who taught us, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Lk 19:10) “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Heb 4:12-13)

When you have a person who comments to your post or even if you are witnessing to someone in person and they disagree with something you teach or speak of in the Bible and come against it. You need to ask them this question. Do you believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of Almighty God who sent his only begotten Son Jesus the Christ who was God manifested in the flesh as Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us that came to seek and to save that which was lost? If they answer no to this question then you know for sure that they are a heretic and you are to reject such a one and you are not to strive with them or continue on giving answers to them as they have already rejected the Word of God and they are sinning being condemned of themselves by their own words.

If you see that the person you asked this question to responded no but has a desire to hear the truth then in that case you are to respond as God directs you but if they again reject it, then you are to reject them as a heretic again being condemned of themselves by their own words.

When we read in Jude:

Jude 1:3-13
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

When Jude said, “that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ” we still have to use scripture with scriptures. So yes we must contend for this faith that was once delivered to us but in the right manner and the right spirit which was addressed above. Jude describes to you what kind of people you are dealing with here and is instructing the believers to contend for the faith as we ought to. This can be accomplished by the Pastor of the Church instructing his flock of the heresies that are being taught that are lies and have perverted the gospel of Jesus Christ and to stay away from these false teachers and false doctrines of men. It can be accomplished by the saints instructing those that oppose themselves in the right manner and right spirit as addressed above but ultimately rejecting the heretics after the first and the second admonition knowing that they have already rejected the Word of God and they are sinning being condemned of themselves by their own words. However, if you did not contend for the faith then the people would be led astray. So that is accomplished more from the pulpit than in person and is done through prayer.

Galatians 1:6-9
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Notice here the Apostle Paul says to the Church of Galatia “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” He then tells us twice “As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” He said they were perverting the gospel of Christ.

Listen to the Word of God!

2 Corinthians 4:3-4
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

This gospel is hid to them that are lost of whom satan has blinded their minds because they believed not! Again they opposed themselves and are being taken captive by satan at his own will. We were taught in what manner and what spirit we are to address these situations ultimately leading to rejecting such a one as a heretic after the first and the second admonition while we pray that God would perhaps “give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

Let everything be done by prayer and obedience to the Word of God! “Let not then your good be evil spoken of:” (Rm 14:16)

Isaiah 55:10-11
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Hebrews 7:1-28

8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Accepting Christ into your Life

Have you ever heard of the sinner’s prayer and that we must accept the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives to be born again?

Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Praise God for this truth!! But is this the plan of salvation for everyone? Many doctrines and personal belief systems that people cling to are based upon selecting certain verses of scriptures and applying only those scriptures. And not only so, but many times these same people will also ignore what was spoken elsewhere in the same letter or epistle. But what does the word of God say about all scripture?

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

What about what we read and learned from the same book of Romans just four chapters earlier concerning baptism in Jesus name? It’s time to Get familiar with the Letter not a Verse of the Letter!!

Romans 6:17-19
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

In Romans 6:17 we find that the Apostle Paul says, “but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” In Romans 10:9 above it read, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Does this make void the doctrine that they obeyed from the heart that was delivered to them? The answer is no. It is written that they had obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to them.

As you can see from this example you can not just go to a certain scripture in a certain book and decide that you understand it’s meaning without studying the rest of the scriptures contained elsewhere. What you see here is the people obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine that was delivered to them and then later on those people were told that “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” This is because these people had “obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered” to them. What is this form of doctrine which was delivered to them? It is the baptism in Jesus name. Hear it!

Romans 6:3
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

This form of doctrine that they obeyed from the heart is found in the book of Acts 2:36-39.

Acts 2:36-39
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

This is the correct and only way to become born again. It takes all 3 steps of Acts 2:38 which reads, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Let’s take a closer look at Romans chapter 6.

Romans 6:1-2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:16-18
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Very important to hear and understand! Verse 18 just told us that the form of doctrine that they obeyed from the heart is what allowed them to be made free from sin.

So if we go back to the beginning of this chapter again we will discover the topic of baptism and that of the promise of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 6:1-9
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Notice carefully the question asked here, “How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” The Apostle Paul goes on to explain how we become dead to sin.

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Notice the if clause in verse 5. If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. Also in verse 3 the Apostle Paul speaks of the baptism in Jesus name as the way that we are planted together in the likeness of his death. This is that form of doctrine that they obeyed from the heart which was delivered to them.

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

If you are not planted together in the likeness of his death, the body of sin will not be destroyed and you will perish in your sins because your old man was not crucified with him and therefore you will not be dead with Christ nor will you be freed from sin that you inherited from Adam.

Colossians 2:10-14
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

This is how you are made free from sin. You are baptized in Jesus name that the body of sin may be destroyed by the circumcision of Christ.

This is why Jesus said in…

Mark 16:16
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

The Apostle Peter tells us that it is by water baptism that we are saved. This is because the body of sin was destroyed by the circumcision made without hands in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Jesus from the dead.

1 Peter 3:18-21
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but where the body of sin is destroyed. Your Adamic sins being cut away or washed away by the circumcision made without hands!!

This is why Jesus also told us,

Matthew 28:19
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

And the Apostle’s who were given full understanding of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ understood the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost was the name of Jesus.

And thus the baptismal commission was given by Jesus to baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. And the baptismal formula was given when the day of Pentecost was fully come and the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the believers. The formula being found in Acts 2:38 which reads, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

In summary, we are to repent of our sins and to be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. This is where the body of sin is destroyed that the Apostle Paul was referring to when he said, “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death“. It is then a promise of God that if you repent of your sins and are baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins that you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.“

This is that form of doctrine that was delivered to them that they obeyed from the heart. Thus to these as well as to those of us who have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine that was delivered to us know “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” This being because we were obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Accepting the Lord Jesus into your life is admirable and is a must if you are to make heaven your home, but one must repent of their sins and be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of their sins to be freed from sin and to be dead with Christ. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; if we do not continue on serving sin. Remember it is a promise that if you repent of your sins and get baptized in Jesus name that you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Let’s start off with the definition of the word faithful.

faithful: 1. strict or thorough in the performance of duty: ex. a faithful worker.
2. true to one’s word, promises, vows, etc.
3. steady in allegiance or affection; loyal; constant: ex. faithful friends.
4. reliable, trusted, or believed.
5. adhering or true to fact, a standard, or an original; accurate: ex. a faithful account;
a faithful copy.
6. full of faith; believing.

John 14:12-15
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The questions you need to ask yourself today is, “Are you Faithful to God?”, “Are you loyal to Jesus Christ?”, “Does Jesus Christ see you as someone who can be trusted or reliable?”

Remember the phrase, “Actions speak louder than words.” Do you believe that? If I tell someone that they are my best friend and like no other, and then I steal their money out of their wallet when they are not looking, was I telling the truth? Or did my actions speak louder than words? Was I found trustworthy to my friend?

So if I tell Jesus Christ He is the love of my life and like no other, and then I decide not to pay tithes or give in the offering to my church this week, and to rob the Lord out of His storehouse, Was I found trustworthy to my love? Was I loyal to my Lord?

Malachi 3:6-11
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

What about when you are at your girlfriend or your boyfriends house and no one else is home but you, can God trust in you not to lie with one another? Can you be trusted as Saints of God to be loyal to Jesus Christ?

2 Corinthians 11:2
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20; 7:1-2
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

What kind of music do you listen to? What kind of lyrics are in the songs you listen too? While you are tilling the land, have you ever wondered what kind of seeds you are sowing?

Galatians 6:7-10
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Are you of the household of faith?? Can the Lord depend on you? What about the movies you watch, or the TV programs you are watching? What about your internet activities? What kind of content are you allowing yourself to be watching??

Proverbs 27:19-20 [Hear what the Wise man tells us!!]
19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied

Just as Hell and Destruction are never full, so the eyes of man are never satisfied. You can never get enough!! Are you a slave to yourself? Are you a lover of pleasure more than a lover of God?? Or can the Lord trust that you will not give in to the pleasures of sin for a season?

Luke 6:46-49
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Well, I do what the Lord tells me to do!! I’m a Christian!!

2 Timothy 2:19
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2 Corinthians 6:17
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

I’m faithful to Jesus Christ. But I don’t think you have to do all those standards to live a Holy life before the Lord. I just don’t see it that way.

Job 28:28
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Are you obedient to your Pastor? Do you listen to them that have the rule over you? Do you follow the path of peace and holiness? Or do you pick and choose what you want to hear and what you want to apply?? Are you faithful to God and to the five fold ministry that He has appointed? Are you loyal to Jesus Christ?

To be loyal you must be obedient to them that have the rule over you! Submit yourself unto God and resist the Devil and he will flee from you!!! Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded!!!

Ephesians 5:6-11
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Proverbs 11:20-21
20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Do you desire what your neighbor has? Are you envious of others because they have more than you do? Are you always wondering how it is that everyone else seems to have more than you do?? Or are you faithful to God’s Word?

Ephesians 5:5
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Hebrews 13:5
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Can the Lord trust you to be merciful? Are you a forgiving person?? Can the Lord count on you to pray for those who wrongfully use you?

Matthew 5:7
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Luke 6:27-36
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

What do you allow your mind to think about throughout the day? Do you keep your thoughts loyal to Jesus Christ? Do you bring your thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ?

How can you bring your thoughts into the obedience of Christ, if you do not know the Word of God and what He requires of His disciples? Do you study the Word of God? Do you search the scriptures?

1 Peter 3:15
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Do you know the Word well enough to give a reason for the hope that lies within you? Do you understand the Plan of Salvation well enough to share it with someone and explain to them how it was fulfilled? Do you understand how grace and justification works? Do you know what to tell someone to do that has been newly born again, and wonders what they should do next?

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Proverbs 5:11-13
11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

Can the Lord trust you to be a witness for Him? Do you share this glorious Gospel of Christ with anyone? Do your friends know you are a born again believer in the liberating Power of Jesus Christ?

Matthew 5:13-16
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Luke 9:25-26
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.

Hear a Parable from the Lord!!

The word mammon that you will hear in this parable simply means riches or material wealth.

Luke 16:1-13
1 And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Can you be trusted or put in charge of another man’s unrighteous riches or material wealth of this world?? Can the Lord trust you with His true riches??

1 Corinthians 4:1-2
1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Can the Lord trust you with the mysteries of God?? Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

O come in and dine with me Lord!! Sup with me my King!! I lay in your gates Lord, and cry out, Here am I!! Here am I!!

Luke 12:42-48
42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

So the question you need to be asking yourself today is, “Does Jesus Christ see me as someone who can be trusted or reliable?”

If that answer is no, then it is time to find an alter of repentance and let the Lord know that you are sorry and ask Him to forgive you, and to bring you to a new spiritual walk with Him. Ask the Lord for a desire to study His word. Ask Him to open up the Word of God to you. Lay down any weight, hindrance, or sin that may be in the way of you establishing a closer relationship with the Lord. Make Jesus Christ your first today. Make up your mind that you are going to pursue the Lord with all diligence, with a great fervency, and then surrender your will to His will. I can promise you that you will never regret turning your life fully over to Jesus Christ.
