“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Pro 22:6)

The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ (Gal 3:24) and was written for our learning. (Rm 15:4)

“Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:” (Deut 11:18-20)

As the parent of the house you are responsible for your children and bringing them up in the nourishing and admonition of the Lord. For this to take place you yourself must also know the Word of God and be a living example of that Word and not a hypocrite.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.” (Col 3:16-21)

Notice carefully that your spouse comes before your children. A house divided can not stand. Your child should not be pitting you against your spouse and you should not be allowing it. Your first responsibility is to put the Lord Jesus Christ first, then your spouse, and then your children.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15) “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” (1 Peter 3:15)

This requires you to be studying the Word of God, applying the Word of God in your life, and then instructing others in the way of righteousness.

“I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” (1 Cor 15:31) “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (1 Cor 9:24-27) “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rm 8:12-14)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Gal 5:22-26) “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim 2:19) For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Gal 2:19-21)

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Rm 8:1-11) “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” (Rm 10:4) “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Cor 5:19-21)

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.” (Lk 23:34-47)

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Eph 4:32) “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Heb 12:2-3)

“I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.” (Isa 50:6) “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isa 53:1-12)

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Mt 9:35-38)

The harvest truly is plenteous!! However the laborers are few!! We were told to pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest!! Pray that he will send you!! It is the Lord’s harvest and we need Laborers in the Harvest!!

“For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” (Mt 20:1-16)

For we are laborers together!! Notice that there were those that were hired even at the eleventh hour!! Even so the Lord in this late hour is still looking for Laborers in the Harvest!! Are you a willing vessel? Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest for there is much work to be done in these last days!! “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” (Rm 13:10-12)

Soul winning is the heartbeat of God!! We desperately need Laborers in the Harvest!! Those who labor in the harvest are working for the kingdom of God!! We need Laborers in the Harvest all over the world!! There can never be enough Laborers in the Harvest!! Will you be a Laborer in the Lord’s harvest? Will you work for the kingdom of God? Will you cultivate the ground you are entrusted with? Will you plant seeds of righteousness, truth and mercy? Will you water the ground with your tears? Will you nurture the precious fruit of the Earth?

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Mt 9:37-38) Pray he will send you!!

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:22-27)

“For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” (Lk 6:43-49)

Are you one that is deceiving yourself? Claiming salvation while following your own pernicious ways? Is your own opinion to be followed and worshiped over the Word of God? Every tree is known by his own fruit for of the abundance of the heart your mouth speaks. Your actions follow after you. Are you keeping yourself unspotted from the world or deceiving yourself?

Are you both a hearer and doer of the Word of God? It isn’t the hearer of the Word of God that is justified before the Lord God, but the one who both hears the Word of God and in obedient faith keeps it. “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:21-26)

The Apostle Paul speaking says, “By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:” (Rm 1:5) Jesus speaking says, “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (Jn 15:14) The Apostle Paul says, the gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ was “made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:” (Rm 16:25-26) Jesus says, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (Jn 14:15) The Apostle Paul says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rm 12:1-2) Jesus says, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” (Mt 16:24-25)

Are you one that is deceiving yourself?

God’s Commandment to Holiness!

Revelation 4:8-11
8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Our God is a Holy God!

I love to feel the Spirit of God as it starts moving over me; it’s a feeling that starts at the top of my head and it goes to the sole of my feet. There’s no better feeling in the whole wide world than to feel the Spirit of God, I love to feel like I feel when I’m feeling what I feel right now!

I Thessalonians 4:7-8
7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto Holiness.

What is holiness? The state or quality of being holy.

What is Holy? Having spiritual and moral worth, separated unto God – pure, sinless, undefiled, sanctified.

Jesus has called us out of sin unto His Holiness-by shedding His precious, sinless blood; through Holiness to the Lord.

Leviticus 10:8-10
8 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

There is a difference between a Child of God- and a sinner.

Leviticus 11:44
44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

For I am the Lord your God, ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves (separate) and ye shall be holy, for I am Holy (sanctified) made holy, freed from sin, consecrated (separated unto God).

Leviticus 20:26
26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

Severed means to be separated from something. Saints we are to be holy, pure, sinless, undefiled, sanctified, separated unto God—

Jesus has called us out of sin unto His Holiness, by shedding his precious, sinless blood through His own death and raising again from the dead, that we might have eternal life through Him; having given us His wonderful gift of everlasting life. The gift of the Holy Ghost, The Holy Ghost of God: Makes us Holy! Saints, the Holy Ghost is Everlasting Life!

If we choose uncleanness, the works of the flesh, then we despise, God’s Holiness; God’s Holy Ghost! The scriptures say is the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, that same spirit will quicken give life to your mortal body.

I Corinthians 3:16-17
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Holy – pure, sinless, sanctified, separated unto God. God can and will destroy a Holy Ghost filled person who deliberately defiles, makes unclean through the works of the flesh, his or her body which is God’s temple.

Saints, there is no such thing as once saved always saved. Or once in grace always in grace. God wrote your name in the Lambs Book of Life and He has the power to Blot it Out again! There is no such thing as eternal security!

I Peter 1:13-19
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind; as a person puts on clothes to cover their nakedness so Clothe Your Mind in Holiness!

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which may be used for edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers, and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption. The day of the Rapture.

God has commanded us to be holy! You are a purchased possession, you are not your own, you have been bought with a price, the price of Jesus’ own blood, therefore worship God in your body and spirit which are God’s, not in your spirit only, but worship God in body and spirit.

Romans 12:1-2
1 beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Your body is a living sacrifice, Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world, be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove, what is good and acceptable, and the perfect will of God.

God’s will for us is to be Holy!

I Timothy 2:8
8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

II Timothy 1:7-9
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

II Corinthians 6:16-18
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Holy: Having spiritual and moral worth; separate unto God, pure, sinless, undefiled, sanctified.

Are you Holy? Do you desire to be Holy?

Jesus said, Be Ye Holy for I am Holy. And be ye perfect-For without Holiness no man shall see God!

Applying Mercy and Forgiveness

Colossians 3:12-13
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

For we are human and we make mistakes. None of us are above making mistakes!! And there be some among the world that deliberately treat you unfairly or unjustly. But, what does the scriptures teach us?

Matthew 5:44-45
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Every one of us have made mistakes and as long as we are in this earthly tabernacle we will continue to make mistakes. This including the 5 fold ministry. The Pastor is human, the preacher and teacher is human. And there is no human being alive today that is infallible. There are none of us who are perfect. We all have our faults and we all have our regrets.

Matthew 18:21-22
21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Which is 490 times we are to forgive our brother if he sins against us. And if we are to forgive our brother 490 times if he sins against us, how oft will the Lord forgive us if we sin against him?

The scriptures teach us that the free gift of righteousness is of many offences unto justification. (Rom 5:16) Because grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom 5:21)

How many of you are thankful for a faithful and just God? Who among you is without sin that Jesus did not give his life for to redeem? Who among you has never been in need of forgiveness? Who among you has never made a mistake and hurt someone else?

1 Peter 4:7-8
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

But what about me? What about the wrong they have done to me? Forgiveness is the healing salve that you are looking for. Forgive one another of their faults and mistakes that they have done unto you!! Forgive them and pray for them!! Repent of your sins and let your own spirit be healed!!

Hebrews 12:15
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Many being defiled and failing of the grace of God because they have become bitter!! They have become full of anger and hatred because they believe that they have been done wrong and will not show mercy nor will they give forgiveness to the one they are offended by. Even if this be God Almighty of which they have become bitter against because they believe they have been done wrong by him, or allowed of him to suffer their present circumstances.

Hebrews 10:28-29
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

But we are not of those that look back!! We are not of those who are treading under foot the Son of God and who are counting the shed blood of Jesus Christ an unholy thing!!

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Why are you judging and condemning one another? Why are you speaking ought against those of whom Christ died for?

Luke 6:37
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

1 John 2:11
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Matthew 5:23-34
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Matthew 18:15-17
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Now that you here the importance of being merciful and forgiving one to another, let’s talk about what happens to you when you show mercy and forgiveness.

When you forgive yourself for your mistakes you eliminate self guilt.

The Apostle Paul while speaking to the Church at Corinth says:

1 Corinthians 4:3-5
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

When you forgive others you destroy the root of bitterness within yourself. You put an end to harboring a grudge against your brother.

James 5:9
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

When you forgive others you put an end to your anger toward them.

Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour [an outcry (in notification, tumult or grief], and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: [badness, i.e. (subject) depravity, or (active) malignity, or (passive) trouble]
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted [well compassioned, i.e. sympathetic], forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

When you forgive others you bring peace to your mind.

Colossians 3:15
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

The ultimate goal you are trying to achieve when showing mercy and forgiveness is to apply it instinctively as soon as the wrong occurs.

James 2:13
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

The reason mercy rejoices against judgment is because that which should have been guilty is pardoned.

How many of you desire the judge you appear before to judge you harshly? And can you not show mercy unto another?

Matthew 18:23-35
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!! (Heb 10:31)

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (Lam 3:22)

Matthew 5:2-12
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Let us give God praise for his great mercy and forgiveness that he has shown unto us.

Daily Devotional – Withhold Not Correction from the Child

“Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine.” (Pro 23:12-15)

Love for your children. Is it truly love to allow your children to back talk to you? Is it truly love to allow your children to go unpunished for wrong doing? Is it truly love for your children not to correct them and show them the right way according to the only truth given to man from the Bible? Are you withholding correction because you love them when you see the results of their behavior toward you and others after not receiving correction?

Come let us Grow Together: Sports

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding in things pertaining to God.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Cor 6:14-7:1)

We as the sons and daughters of the Father and “the temple of the living God” are told as “Having therefore these promises”, referring to the promises in Christ Jesus our Lord and “heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him”, (Rm 8:17) that we are to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit” and to also be “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” We as the sons and daughters of the Father are to walk in Christ. Rooted and built up in Christ. Established in the faith of the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ abounding in the faith with all thanksgiving even as we have been taught by the Word of God throughout the New Testament.

Sports are not only very time consuming whether you are playing them or only watching them but sports are of the world of which we are told “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 Jn 2:15-17) Sports and competition within them evoke many spirits, attitudes, and ungodly behavior. The clothing worn in the majority of sports are very ungodly and we as the sons and daughters of the Father were told to “cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thes 5:21-23) Many sports themselves are all about sexuality and sensuality. They not only have completely inappropriate clothing but the very acts of which they are doing are ungodly! Are you still listening to me? Hear it again, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (1 Jn 2:3-6)

Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. Psa 69:22-24

Come let us Grow Together: Walk in Wisdom Toward them that are Without

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” (Col 4:5-6) “But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” (2 Tim 2:23-26) While we also remain aware O’ God “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Cor 11:14-15) Let our labor of love flourish as the noonday and let the Water of Life flow forth and let our love of Christ prevail against any that would stand in our way in Jesus name I pray.

“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.” (1 Peter 4:1-5)

When followers of Christ are converted and born again of God they no longer partake of the lifestyles they once partook of. This is something that those who walk after the flesh do not understand unless God draws them by His Spirit and they listen and obey. The friends you once had will eventually come to an end unless you are a struggling Christian or they are tremendously respectful of your deeply held convictions and obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3) This the Lord asked of Israel through the Prophet Amos. The answer is no they can’t walk together.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Cor 6:14-18) “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” (1 Cor 15:33-34)

When followers of Christ are converted and born again of God when their friends begin to ask them to come and partake of any number of things you may have once partook of with them, even if it was recently, is going to be confusing to them. They likely will try their best to persuade you to do it anyway. In many cases they could care less that you have become born again because they have no interest in serving God but rather serving their own lusts even as you once did with them.

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:1-10)

This may lead to name calling by them toward you and talking about you behind your back while other gossiping friends relay back to you what is taking place or you may even see it posted on one of your favorite social hangouts online. The answer is clearly written in scripture that we are not to partake of the lifestyles we once partook of while walking in the flesh in our past. We are now walking after the Spirit.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 Jn 2:15-17)

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Rm 8:1-8)
