Daily Devotional – Bought with a Price

We were BOUGHT, bought with a PRICE! The PRICE?, was the “Cup of Death”! BOUGHT with the PRECIOUS BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. “O DEATH, where is thy sting? O GRAVE, where is thy victory? The STING of DEATH is SIN; and the STRENGTH of SIN is the LAW. But thanks be to God, which GIVETH US the VICTORY through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.” (1 Cor 15:55-57)

Did you know that when you are born again that you have been bought with a price and you are no longer your own? “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Cor 6:19-20) Do you know what the Apostle Paul means when he asks death where is your sting and grave where is your victory? Jesus destroyed the works of the devil (Heb 2:14) and took back the keys of hell and death. (Rev 1:18)

Daily Devotional – Types, Shadows, and Salvation

Passover – Red Sea – Under the Cloud = Brazen Altar – Brazen Laver – Holiest of Holies = Death – Burial – Resurrection = Blood – Water – Spirit = Repentance – Baptism in Jesus Name – Receive Indwelling Sprit of God = Acts 2:38 Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Did you know that the blood, water, and the Spirit which is salvation is seen throughout the scriptures? Here we see it with the Passover (Ex 12:11-13) and the baptism unto Moses. (1 Cor 10:1-2) Again we see it in the Tabernacle Plan given to Moses by God. The Brazen Altar for the animal sacrifice and sin offering, (Levi 6:1-7) the Brazen Laver to wash their hands and their feet, that they die not, (Ex 30:17-21) and the Holiest of Holies where the High Priest communicated with the Spirit of God once a year on the day of atonement. (Ex 30:6) (Lev 23:27-28) We see it again in the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. (Rm 6:3-7) “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” (1 Jn 5:6) We partake of the blood, water, and the Spirit when we apply Acts 2:38 in our lives. Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Daily Devotional – Not Forsaking the Assembling of ourselves Together

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Heb 10:22) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Heb 10:25)

Did you know that having our bodies washed with pure water is referring to being baptized in Jesus name as just six verses earlier it was speaking of the New Testament we are living under and just four verses earlier says, “Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.” (Heb 10:18) This being fulfilled in Acts 2:38 where we partake of the New Testament. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) We are also told that we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, then told we should be assembling together even more as we see the day approaching. Do you know what day is in reference? The day of the Lord’s wrath and we are given warning signs all throughout scripture concerning this day so that we may escape it.

Daily Devotional – The Spirit, The Water, and The Blood

“And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” (1 Jn 5:8) They agree in Salvation. “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” (1 Jn 5:6) “But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.” (Jn 19:34) “And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.” (Jn 19:35)

Did you know the Spirit, and the water, and the blood represents Salvation? Repentance is representative of you dying out to you sins or death, being baptized in Jesus name is representative of being buried with Christ where the body of sin is destroyed, and the receiving of the Spirit is representative of the likeness of Christ’s resurrection where we are promised that we too will be caught away when the Lord comes to meet us in the air.

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” (Rm 6:3-7) “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Rm 8:11)

Daily Devotional – One Sacrifice for Sins for Ever

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Heb 10:12-14) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rm 8:1)

Did you know that once you are born again that Jesus has perfected for ever them that are sanctified? Which are those that are born again. This perfection refers to your conscience as you are no longer under condemnation that came forth from the Mosaic Law, “because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins”, (Heb 10:2 but justification by the offering of Jesus Christ once for all. So if you walk after the Spirit there is no more condemnation unless you walk after the flesh again in which case you can repent and be forgiven again.

Daily Devotional – This is the Covenant

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (Heb 10:16-17) Saved by Grace through obedient Faith, not of works, (Eph 2:8-9) leads to Acts 2:38, which is Salvation, which brings forth the free gift of Righteousness (Rm 5:18) by imputation not by the works of the Mosaic Law. (Rm 4:5)

Did you know that was the New Covenant (Testament) that God instituted? Notice that in the Covenant we are told that “ their sins and iniquities will I remember no more”. When you partake of Acts 2:38 you will see the same thing because it is the fulfillment of the New Covenant (Testament). “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) This is being saved by grace through applying faith in what God has spoken and this brings forth righteousness by obedient faith and not the works of the law of Moses.

Daily Devotional – This is My Body This is My Blood

Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life. (Jn 6:53) And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. (Lk 22:19-20)

Did you know taking communion is a must in your life to be saved? Jesus laid down his life giving us his flesh and his blood so that you and I could live.

Daily Devotional – The Epistles and Salvation

Why look into the Epistles written to the Churches for Salvation, when Salvation is found in the History of the Church found in The book of Acts? To understand the Epistles written to the Churches you must first understand how the Church was birthed. Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

Did you know that the Epistles were written to give instruction on how to live a godly life after Salvation? Did you know it is the Book of Acts where we find out by the Apostles how to become born again? See Acts 2:38 (above) Acts 8:15-17, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6, Acts 22:16

Daily Devotional – He that believeth and is Baptized shall be Saved

If ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (Jn 8:24) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mk16:16) Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (Jn 3:5) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Rm 10:14)

Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God? Have you been baptized in Jesus name? “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) This is how you partake of being born of water and of the Spirit as Jesus instructed us and how the Apostle Peter commanded us. Have you submitted yourself to a Pastor so you can be taught of God? This is more than a telavangelist as you must have a Pastor over you that you are submitted to and have the ability to speak with when you need him. “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” (Heb 13:17)

Daily Devotional – The Heart is Deceitful above all Things

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jer 17:9) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Mt 12:34) A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. (Mt 12:35) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Pro 4:23) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind. (1 Peter 1:13)

Are you following after your heart? As you can see following after your heart is a very deadly thing! Did you know that out of the heart is where your thoughts are coming from and it’s in your mind that you must cast those thoughts down? This is the reason that out of the heart are the issues of life. So should you be following your heart? Or should you be following after the Bible? What is within will come out. This is why you must gird up the loins of your mind and be sober.
