Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? (Isa 58:3-5)

The children of Israel expected that if they fasted the Lord was obligated to do what they were asking of him. However, what manner of spirit are you of when you fast? Fasting is more than just pushing the plate aside even as for the children of Israel it was more than just a time to spread sackcloth and ashes.

How and why does one fast?

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? (Isa 58:6-7)

When we are fasting we are not only desiring a closer walk with God but we are also fasting to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke.

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Isa 58:8-11)

Let us look at an example from the Prophet Daniel.

In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: (Dan 9:2-3)

Notice that Daniel set his face unto the Lord God. He did this by prayer and supplications with fasting as well as with sackcloth and ashes.

And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. (Dan 9:4-6)

Notice how Daniel carefully laid out his petition to the Lord God. He confessed the sins of his people and he exalted the Lord our God. In confessing the sins of his people he acknowledged their departing from the commandments and judgments of the Lord.

This is a perfect example of how one is to fast and why one comes to the Lord with a fast. Daniel continues his prayer…

O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name. (Dan 9:16-19)

And the Prophet Daniel was heard. Because when he fasted he prayed and sought the Lord with the right spirit and with the right heart.

And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. (Dan 9:20-21)

Let us remember to follow the example the Lord gave to us when we fast as well as the example given to us by the Prophet Daniel and not be as the hypocrites.

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. (Mt 6:16-18)

Philippians 4:4
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Whew Praise God!! Rejoice in the Lord alway!!!! Not sometimes. Not here and there. Not only when things are going good. Not only when things are going bad. But Rejoice in the Lord alway!!!! Let the joy of the Lord be your strength!! Let the joy that is set before you in the world to come be your strength and joy!!!! Let the songs of Praise and Worship be put forth out of your lips unto the most High God continually!!!

John 7:37-39
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Is anyone thirsty? Is anyone ready to allow “rivers of living water” to flow “out of his belly“? Is anyone ready to Dance in the Rain!!!!

Acts 2:1-7
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Have ye received the Holy Ghost

The “rivers of living water” have now fallen “when the day of Pentecost was fully come”. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” They just received the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!!!! And they could not forbear!!!! Anybody ready to have a Holy Ghost experience in your life? I’m Going to Dance in the Rain!!!! Anybody going to Dance in the Rain with me?

Acts 2:14-19
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose!!!! THIS IS THAT!!!! “which was spoken by the prophet Joel”!! THIS IS THAT!!!! Which Jesus spoke “out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water“!! Does anybody want some of THIS IS THAT!!!! Does anybody want the Lord Jesus to “pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh”? Let the Holy Ghost Rain fall upon us!!!! It’s time to desire to Dance in the Rain!!!!

Acts 8:14-17
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit is not automatically given to you upon repentance of your sins and even being “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” as we have just read!! Be not deceived!!!! The Apostles “prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” However, they desired THIS IS THAT!!!! They needed THIS IS THAT!!!! You can’t make heaven your home without THIS IS THAT!!!! Jesus said, “out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water“!! Are rivers of living water flowing out of you as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance? Are you speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance!! BECAUSE THIS IS THAT!! AND WITHOUT THIS IS THAT YOU CAN’T SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!!!

Acts 19:1-6
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

“Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?” Have you been “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” for the remission of your sins? Again, we see that the Holy Ghost is not automatically given to you upon repentance of your sins and even being “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” as we have just read!!

Acts 10:1-8
1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

The Apostle Peter also has a vision.

Acts 10:9-16
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Acts 10:17-22
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

The Lord sent these men on behalf of Cornelius and the Lord told Peter to go with them doubting nothing. Peter was going to tell them all things commanded of him by God.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

Acts 10:25-28
25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

The understanding of the vision was revealed to the Apostle Peter. But God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Acts 10:29-48
29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

All things THAT ARE COMMANDED thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

So what he done for the Jews He will do for the Gentiles.

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

The Apostle Peter preached the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to Cornelius and to his company.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

The Apostle Peter preached that they were commanded to preach and to testify that Jesus was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead, and Jesus was He whom the prophets gave witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Cornelius and his company were believers.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

This is so very important to understand.

Remember, an Angel of the Lord appeared before Cornelius and told him, “And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.” Then God showed the Apostle Peter a vision. “While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.”

Cornelius then tells Peter what the Angel told him and then says to the Apostle Peter, “Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.” When Peter heard these words he said, “Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:”

So the Apostle Peter was telling Cornelius and all present what they must do as commanded by God. While they heard the Word of God from the Apostle Peter the Holy Ghost fell upon all of them, “For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.”

“Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?”

Baptism was not an option but clearly a commandment. Even as it was for the Jews when the day of Pentecost had fully come. The people present asked Peter and the rest of the Apostles what they must do, even as Cornelius has asked the Apostle Peter what they must do.

And what they MUST DO WAS THE SAME THING:

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

This included the Gentiles, though it was not yet known. For God is no respecter of persons.

Acts 10:34-35
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Come let us Grow Together: Thanksgiving

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

A way of life! A choice one makes! To be thankful at all times! No one said it would be easy, but we as the children of God must make a conscientious effort to apply the Word of God.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thes 5:18)

01 Be Thankful

The Lord wants us to be thankful at all times!!! So how does one become thankful at all times?

First one must recognize that…… “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Rm 8:28) Second one must realize that “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” (Eccl 3:1) And finally one must realize that we are to “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Pro 3:5-6)

This is how we become thankful in all things!!

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; (Eph 5:18-20)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Col 3:16-17)

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (Heb 13:15) Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. (Psa 150:2) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psa 100:4)

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (Col 3:12-15)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Heb 13:5)

Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Isa 28_9-10

These two verses of scripture that you have just read is how the entire Word of God the Bible is set up. This is to whom the Lord God will teach knowledge and to whom the Lord God will “make to understand doctrine”. You must be “weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.” You can not stay a babe in Christ without putting your soul in jeopardy and great peril. For we arethe body of Christ, and members in particular.” (1 Cor 12:27) We are commandedStudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim 2:15) “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18) “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.” (2 Cor 13:5-6) “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Heb 12:1-3) “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” (Col 4:5-6) This you can not do as a babe in Christ still on the milk of the Word of God!!

A precept is a general rule or commandment to regulate your thoughts and behavior. Therefore you must beweaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

The Word of God is learned by studyingto shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.And this is to whom the Lord God will teach knowledge and to whom the Lord God willmake to understand doctrine” because you are growing “in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This revealing by the arm of the Lord God will come by learning one commandment upon another commandment, one commandment upon another commandment. It will be learnedline upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little“. Line upon line meaning one verse of scripture upon another verse of scripture from one book of the Bible to another book of the Bible thus laying line upon line then building upon the layer another line upon line, learning this glorious truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ that was afore preached unto Abraham. “And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Gal 3:8-14)

There is a difference between having knowledge and understanding the knowledge you have as well as understanding how to use the knowledge you have aright in a wise and upright manner. The Pharisees, Sacdducees, Scribes, Elders, and rulers of Israel thought they had understanding of the scriptures and thought they had doctrinal knowledge.

Isaiah 28:13
13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

This took place because the nation of Israel continuously rejected the Word of God and committed whoredoms and played the harlot against their husband until He finally wrote a bill of divorcement. This Judah did see and played the harlot and committed more whoredoms and abominations than Israel.

Jeremiah 3:6-11
6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.
11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

2 Kings 17:5-23
5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
12 For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
13 Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16 And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20 And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23 Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

Ezekiel 23:1-49
1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
6 Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.
7 Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.
8 Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.
9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
10 These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
11 And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12 She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
13 Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
14 And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,
15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
16 And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.
17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.
18 So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.
19 Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21 Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.
22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26 They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.
27 Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
30 I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
31 Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.
32 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.
33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34 Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
35 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
36 The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
38 Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.
40 And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,
41 And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.
42 And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
43 Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
44 Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.
45 And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46 For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
47 And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48 Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
49 And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

Romans 11:7-12
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Romans 10:19-21
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

The Apostle Paul bear Israel record.

Romans 10:1-5
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

Hebrews 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

For you the body of Christ, the Church, are the Bride of Christ!!

2 Corinthians 11:2
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

Revelation 22:16-17
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

However God has a separate covenant with Israel that does not pertain to the covenant that we are currently living under even though those of Israel can come into this covenant even as the Apostles and many other Jewish people have already done because of God’s grace and mercy as well as because of the Gentiles that through your mercy Israel also may obtain mercy.

Romans 11:25-33
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Isaiah 28:9-10
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

To learn of this doctrinal knowledge and to be blessed to receive of this understanding of doctrine one must not neglect having a Pastor over them and the faithful attendance of going to Church.

Ephesians 4:11-16
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Romans 10:14-15
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

You can not receive of this as part of the body of Christ if you have not submitted yourself to the 5-fold ministry of God that wasFor the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceiveand you can not receive of this as part of the body of ChristFrom whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in loveif you deliberately and intentionally refuse to go to Church and to submit yourself to those who have the rule over you.

Hebrews 13:17
17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Acts 20:28
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

1 Peter 5:1-4
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Hebrews 10:23-31
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Speaking unto the Hebrews the writer says “for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat“. Even so the majority of the Christian world, if I may give my judgment as many as 95% or more suffer from the same admonishment as they still are unable to receive “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” which speaks of the foundation of the gospel of Jesus Christ explaining that you must repent of your sins while having faith toward God while then being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and the promise of receiving the Holy Ghost. The laying on of hands where the Holy Ghost is given, gifts of the Spirit are given, and the sick are anointed with oil in the name of the Lord. Continuing on “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” the “resurrection of the dead” which is speaking of the catching away of the saints which can only happen if you have the Spirit of Christ the Holy Spirit within you of which you also need to be planted together in the likeness of his death so we will be also in the likeness of his resurrection being risen from the dead which is speaking of the gospel of Jesus Christ where after repenting you are baptized into Jesus Christ where you are baptized into his death and then receive the Holy Spirit so that you are in the likeness of his resurrection. Then of “eternal judgment” which is the second death known as great white throne judgment where those who were not part of the “resurrection of the dead” will be judged by God and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. Again I say, “for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat“. Even so the majority of the Christian world, if I may give my judgment as many as 95% or more suffer from the same admonishment of the Hebrews as they still are unable to receive “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” and will thus perish in their sins.

Therefore I will show the scriptures of “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” in their order so that you will be saved from your sins and be able to instruct others of this truth given to us in the Word of God that we may all escape the pangs of death. Thus illustrating to whom the Lord God will “teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Hebrews 6:1-2
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

First understand that this did not say reject and ignore “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” because it said “let us go on unto perfection” because “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” are the foundation and the milk of which you must have as a babe that first comes to Christ even as every person must first be a babe in need of the milk before that babe can grow. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2) This growing is the “let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation” of “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” that is being spoken of here as the writer goes on to explain what these “principles of the doctrine of Christ” are that you must first have understanding of so that you can then “go on unto perfection“.

The foundation.

Ephesians 2:20-22
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

This foundation requires you to first partake ofrepentance from dead works, and of faith toward Godso that you can then partakeOf the doctrine of baptismsof which allows you to then be born again and now part ofthe building fitly framed togetherthatgroweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.Which can not take place until you have been born again the correct way which isthe principles of the doctrine of Christ“.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

That is the gospel of Jesus Christ. However, for you to have received of this gospel of Jesus Christwherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vainonly applies to you if you have partook of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection which is the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ and thelaying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

This is how you partake of the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

When youRepent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghostyou have now become born again and have also partook ofthe principles of the doctrine of Christ“. Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christwasthe foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.This is seen and partook of in being born again according to the only way one can become born again which is toRepent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.You have now repented from dead works while having faith toward God that he will remit your sins and fill you with the Holy Ghost. This isthe doctrine of baptismsthat is being spoken of as you have been baptized both by water baptism into the death of Jesus Christ and have now received the Holy Ghost which is the baptism of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ spoken of throughout the gospel teaching of Jesus Christ.

Luke 3:16
16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christ” “of laying on of handsis where the Holy Ghost is given, gifts of the Spirit are given, and the sick are anointed with oil in the name of the Lord.

Acts 8:18-19
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

1 Timothy 4:14
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

James 5:14-15
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Theprinciples of the doctrine of Christof theresurrection of the dead” which is speaking of the catching away of the saints, can only happen if you have the Spirit of Christ the Holy Spirit within you of which you also need to be planted together in the likeness of his death so we will be also in the likeness of his resurrection being risen from the dead which is speaking of the gospel of Jesus Christ where after repenting you are baptized into Jesus Christ where you are baptized into his death and then receive the Holy Spirit so that you are in the likeness of his resurrection.

Romans 6:1-7
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 8:9-11
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Once you have been planted together in the likeness of his death so that you will be also in the likeness of his resurrection from the dead you can then be caught away with the saints when the Lord Jesus comes to receive his bride of which is the body of Christ the Church.

Acts 17:32-33
32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
33 So Paul departed from among them.

Acts 24:21-22
21 Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
22 And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.

1 Corinthians 15:20-22
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:39-44
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

Concerning theprinciples of the doctrine of Christ” “and of eternal judgmentwhich is the second death known as great white throne judgment where those who were not part of theresurrection of the deadwill be judged by God and cast into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 2:11
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Revelation 20:6
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 20:11-15
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Come let us Grow Together: The Spirit of Life to Escape the Pangs of Death

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rm 8:1-4)

You must have the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus to Escape the Pangs of Death!

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 Jn 3:8)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. (Heb 2:14-18)

Jesus came to take back the power that satan had over us and deliver us from the pangs of death!!

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Rev 1:18)

Once you have been freed from the law of Sin and Death, you must…..

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Lk 9:23)

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (Rm 8:12-13)

You must walk after the Spirit of Life to Escape the Pangs of Death!!

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James 1:14-15)

There may be pleasure in sin for a season, but the end thereof is the ways of Death!!

We must die daily and follow after the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus to Escape the Pangs of Death!!

Psalms 68:19

21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Psalms 106:1-3
1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Ephesians 4:1-3

When it comes to addictions whatever they may be, to beat the cycle of defeat, guilt, frustration, condemnation, etc., you must first acknowledge your problem. Then you must take your problem to God through repentance. You must tell God you are sorry for your sins and that you need His help to break this cycle of addiction that you are afflicted with. The second thing you must do is to make yourself accountable to another person.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16) He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (Pro 28:13)

When you confess your faults one to another this should be someone you have confidence in and trust. This person should be someone that you can depend on that will not tell others of your problems and also one who will take your problem before God with you.

You also need to develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. This is done by developing a deeper understanding of the Word of God and through praying daily. We then use the Word of God to change our thoughts, attitudes, and overall behavior.

Matthew 11_28-30

Do not condemn or judge yourself when you mess up, but rather confess your sins to Jesus and repent of them. Judging and condemning yourself will only bring forth feelings of guilt, shame, feelings of no self worth, and ultimately depression.

Remember it is God who justifies the ungodly and not we ourselves and we are of much more value in the eyes of God than many sparrows.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. (Lk 12:6-7)

Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. (Rm 4:4-5)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 Jn 1:9)

It is important to understand and remember that we do not earn forgiveness and none of us our worthy of the Lord’s mercy or forgiveness. Yet, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (Jn 3:16) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rm 8:3-4)

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (Rm 8:13) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (Rm 8:6-7)

It is highly important that you begin to learn scriptures that you may, “fight the good fight of faith,” and “lay hold on eternal life.” (1 Tim 6:12a) And that you may put on the whole armour of God to fight against the enemy of your soul. (Eph 6:10-18) <—–Read this.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Pet 1:13) The word gird means to encircle or secure with a belt or band. Abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thess 5:22)

Understand what is taking place:

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. (James 1:12-15)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Cor 6:19-20)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:7-8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Remember “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Phil 4:13) Therefore be not of a doubtful mind. (Lk 12:29b)

1 Thessalonians 4:1-4
1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

We as the children of the day and not of the night are to walk pleasing unto God, abounding more and more. We are to know “the will of God” and how to keep our “vessel in sanctification and honour”.

Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We as the children of light and not of the darkness are to present our “bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is” our “reasonable service.” Being “not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

1 Peter 1:13-17
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

We as the children of that just one and not of that wicked one are to “gird up the loins of your mind, be sober”, “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance”, “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” We are to “pass the time of” our “sojourning here in fear”.

Psalms 101:3
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Is the internet in and of itself evil? “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes”. If it is then none of us should be on it. However, the internet is full of both wicked places as well as places that are not wicked. The internet is full of places that you could be tempted to do evil instead of good. However you could be tempted to do evil in your mind at all waking moments of your life. Do you then disconnect your mind to a vegetative state? Even so, we are in the world but not of the world. For the world loves it’s own.

For one person may need to stop using the internet because they are unable to “possess his vessel in sanctification and honour” while another person is able to keep themselves. However, if we eliminate the internet is our computer wicked in and of itself? The answer is no. However, it could be used as wickedness under temptations depending on what software you install on it even without an internet connection. Is the software you install on your computer wicked? It depends on what program you installed. However, most software is not evil but that doesn’t mean that you can’t use it for wicked devices depending upon how you are using the software you installed. So then, is placing a computer before your eyes wicked? Or the smart phone you are using is it wicked? If it is then none of us should be using it. For “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes”. Is your smart phone not a computer? Is it then wicked because of it’s software installed upon it?

What about T.V.? Is owning a T.V. placing a “wicked thing before” your “eyes”? What if you use it for a monitor and do not have cable connected to it by any means? What if you call your monitor that you are using a T.V. even though you do not have any cable connected to it by any means? Virtually everything on cable is full of uncleanness, perversion, indoctrination, propaganda, and is mingled with desensitization. Therefore is wicked. However, if you do not have cable connected to your T.V. and are using it as a monitor, and own a DVD player or VCR player, is the DVD player or VCR player wicked? Or does it come down to what you allow yourself to watch through these devices? What if every movie or T.V. show is rated G? I have seen several rated G shows that have used filthy language in it and turned them off. If you say I don’t watch any T.V. shows what about “The Andy Griffith show” or dozens of other like examples. Are you sure your not watching any T.V. shows? Or did it suddenly no longer become a television show just because you don’t have any cable connected to it by any means and are using a DVD player, VHS player, or other platforms on the internet such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc.? Is Netflix and other paid subscriptions for watching movies, shows that were on cable, and shows that are created by your paid subscriber wicked in and of itself? If it is then none of us should be using it or any other sites that have such movies and older cable television shows such as Youtube. Is Youtube wicked in and of itself? Or does it depend on what you view on Youtube?

What about books? Are books evil in and of themselves? For “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes”. What if you are reading Christian authors? Does it not depend on what is in the content of their books as well as what kind of language they are using? Even though they claimed to be Christian authors?

What about the radio in your car? Is it evil in and of itself? What about talk shows? Does it depend only on what radio station you are tuned into? What about the content of the songs playing or the content of the talk shows? What about the commercial breaks or the radio DJ? “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

What about the news? Is the news evil in and of itself? Doesn’t many news articles contain unsavory content and foul language? Do not the news reporters use profanities at times? Is it ok to listen to certain talk shows that one day nothing unclean is said but the next day they curse multiple times? “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thess 5:21-22) Are we not to watch, read, or listen to the news? Or do we just have to use good judgment about the news sources we are gathering our news from.

Yea, hath God said, in six days I have made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day? Thus enters false sciences so called. It was the Big Bang Theory, Evolution, Gap Theory, Theistic Evolution, Pre-Adamic world, Luciferian flood, or it is an unknown amount of time that Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden before the fall of mankind into sin, or there were other people God created outside the Garden of Eden populating the world and Adam and Eve after sinning came out had their children who then married or just procreated with them?

Exodus 20:11
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

How long were Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? Genesis 5:5 tells us, “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.” We also know that God began keeping track of time in the creation account when he used the phrase “And the evening and the morning were the first day” etc. We were also told that Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born. “And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:” (Gen 5:3) This lets us know without any uncertainty that Adam and Eve could not have been in the Garden of Eden for any longer than 130 years. Which years are reduced even further since Adam was 130 years old when he had Seth, and Cain and Able were born before this time. It also only stands to reason that Adam and Eve must also have had daughters. We are not given the ages of Cain and Able but only told that “Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground”, (Gen 4:2) that both had enough understanding to make “an offering unto the LORD”, (Gen 4:3) and that Cain was old enough to murder his brother with malice. (Gen 4:6-10)

So when we read “And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch (Gen 4:16-17) we must first take notice that it only says here that Cain went to the land of Nod and knew his wife. It doesn’t say that Cain found his wife there, just that he knew her there. So there is no evidence that Cain found this woman in Nod but rather most likely took her with him to the land of Nod. Who was this woman he took to the land of Nod? One of his sisters. “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” (Gen 3:20) If you try to theorize that there were other people outside of the Garden of Eden then these people could not have had souls since Eve was “the mother of all living.” Therefore it is false doctrines of men and apostates that listen to satan who is saying, Yea, hath God said, in six days I have made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day? It was the Big Bang Theory, Evolution, Gap Theory, Theistic Evolution, Pre-Adamic world, Luciferian flood, or it is an unknown amount of time that Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden before the fall of mankind into sin, or there were other people God created outside the Garden of Eden populating the world and Adam and Eve after sinning came out had their children who then married or just procreated with them?

Come let us Grow Together: He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Eph 4:8)

Jesus Ascension

This captivity that Jesus led captive was that of death!

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. (Ezek 18:20)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Heb 2:14-15)

Jesus freed those that are born again from the power of death by dying as our substitute!

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Rev 1:18)

Set free from the bondage of death!

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 15:55-57)

Set free from the condemnation of sin if you are a born again Christian not following after the flesh, but after the Spirit!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rm 8:1-4)

Jesus led death captive, and gave gifts unto men so that we could become born again and follow after the leading of the Spirit and not after the flesh!

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (Eph 2:14-16)

Jesus made both the Jew and the Gentile one new man in the body of Christ. “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances” “that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby”.

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one {this referring to Adam}; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation {this referring to Adam}; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners {this referring to Adam}, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rm 5:17-21)

Some of the gifts Jesus gave unto men when he led death captive!

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Eph 4:11-13)

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Cor 12:1, 8-13)
