1 Corinthians 3:1-7
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

For you are yet Carnal

View or Download as a .pdf file

A strong chastisement from the Apostle Paul. These disciples of Jesus Christ are being told that they are carnal and still in need to be fed with milk and not with meat because they can’t bear it! Don’t be so quick to say that you can. Can you really? Or are you still in need of the milk? Are you still a babe in Christ even though you should be of age or an adult still in the process of growing which is needful? Unless you are new to the Lord Jesus Christ which of course you would still be a babe.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

It is God that gives the increase. It is his laborers that minister or witness his Word to souls. Is there envying in you? Strife in you? Divisions within your congregation with your brothers and sisters in Christ?

James 3:14-16
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

God is not the author of confusion and where bitter envying and strife is there is also every evil work! Are you a carnally minded Church? Carnally minded followers of Christ?

1 Peter 3:8-11
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

It is time to put away the milk, the carnality, pick up the meat, and spirituality.

Hebrews 5:8-14
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Jesus Christ learned “obedience by the things which he suffered” and the savior of those “that obey him”.

10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Are your ears dull of hearing also? Do you understand “the first principles of the oracles of God” of which refer to the “Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.” (Romans 9:4-5) Also referring to these six principles of the doctrine of Christ of which you must have knowledge of in order to be saved yourself, and to instruct others, as well as these six principles of the doctrine of Christ are in direct reference to “the first principles of the oracles of God,” of which topics is the full understanding of what each principle is in reference to? “not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.” (Heb 6:1-2)

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

One of the seven abominations mentioned in scripture to us that the Lord God hates is:

Proverbs 6:19b
19 … he that soweth discord among brethren.

Even as the Apostle Paul says, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.” (1 Cor 1:10-15)

“Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” All this was clarifying to the Christians that there was to be no division among them and that they all had been baptized in Jesus name for the remission of their sins, not baptized in the name of Paul. “was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?” “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38) “Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” (Acts 19:4-5)

James 3:14-16
14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Proverbs 14:30b
30 …. but envy the rottenness of the bones.

There is no division in the body of Christ!

1 Corinthians 12:24-26
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

Ephesians 5:29-30
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

1 Corinthians 12:18-20
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

If “we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones” are you not yet carnal when you have “envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?”

1 John 3:14-16
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1 John 4:20-21
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Galatians 5:13-16
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Are “ye not carnal, and walk as men” when you deny the power of the Holy Ghost?

2 Timothy 3:5
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Are “ye not carnal, and walk as men” when you teach “that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.” (1 Tim 6:5)

Denying the power of the Holy Ghost is to deny the resurrection power of the Holy Ghost!

Romans 8:9-11
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Denying the power of the Holy Ghost is do deny the receiving of the Holy Ghost evidenced with the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance!

Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Denying the power of the Holy Ghost is do deny that the gifts of the Holy Ghost are still in operation today by the believers!

Mark 16:15-17
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

1 Corinthians 12:1
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

1 Corinthians 14:1, 12
1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

From the words of Jesus you can see that these signs of the Holy Spirit will follow the believers, “In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” and we can also see from Jesus’ words that many people who have done mighty works in his name were not continually obedient to him and in the day of his coming he will “profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Luke 12:42-48
42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5)

Rejected Bride Crying in the Rain

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he just happened to fall out of love with her?

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he no longer desired to forgive her?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he no longer enjoyed her company anymore?

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17)

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he no longer enjoyed her conversation anymore?

And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. (Revelation 21:9)

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he found another he desired more than her?

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:27)

What if Jesus decided to walk out on his bride because he no longer found her attractive to look upon?

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrews 10:23)

So why is it you walk out on your spouse over these same very things?

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Matthew 19:6)

It is not the will of God for you to walk out on your spouse.

And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: (1 Corinthians 7:10)

Nor is it the will of God for you to fall out of love with your spouse.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (Ephesians 5:22)

If you can maintain a love for Jesus Christ then why can’t you maintain your love for your spouse?

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. (Ephesians 5:24)

How can you maintain your love for Jesus Christ while you are planning, conspiring, and waiting for an opportunity to write your spouse a bill of divorcement?

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. (Ephesians 5:28)

Or how can you maintain your love for Jesus Christ while you are planning, conspiring, and waiting to destroy your spouse with your divisive ways?

But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. (1 Corinthians 7:11)

2 Timothy 4:5
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

As children of God we must endure afflictions. They will come. Some of them may last many years. Some may even last a lifetime. However, it is important that we endure these afflictions with a godly attitude and a godly spirit.

View or Download as a .pdf file

2 Timothy 2:3-7
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

Enduring hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ is to recognize that you are in a war. A spiritual warfare and you are part of the soldiers of Jesus Christ and you must display a godlike character during these trials, tribulations, and whatever other hardships come your way. Listen carefully again no man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life. Why? So that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier. Furthermore we must do so lawfully. The manner of which God has both commanded and provided to us for instruction throughout his Word the Bible.

Romans 8:13-18
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

It is a promise that we will have afflictions. However, we must endure these afflictions and suffer with Christ that we may be also glorified together at his coming. Whether we are suffering physical limitations or suffering mentally with something that may very well be a chemical imbalance in the brain or that something isn’t firing right in your mind or even working correctly, we must continue to not only endure these afflictions but continue to witness this gospel of Jesus Christ. I can say this to you with understanding because I experience chronic pain that has altered my life at this present time for 9 years and have experienced depressions, mood swings, and anxieties most of my life. Anxieties from my earliest memories and depressions, mood swings, and anxieties at this present time for 28 years now. The Apostle Paul said, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Acts 14:19-22
19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Psalms 34:19
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

The Apostle Paul was given a thorn in the flesh by God upon all the other sufferings that he suffered for the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

That is the spiritual attitude that we are striving for while enduring afflictions. The Apostle Paul made these statements after explaining what he had been through.

2 Corinthians 11:18-30
18 Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.
19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.
20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.
21 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.
22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.
23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.
29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

Again the Apostle Paul has given to us the correct spiritual attitude we should have concerning trials, tribulations, afflictions, and infirmities. “If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

When God called Paul whose name was Saul of Tarsus Jesus told Ananias concerning Paul, “For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Acts 9:13-16
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

The Apostle Paul is not alone in the sufferings for the name of Christ. The New Testament is full of sufferings of tribulations and afflictions for the name of Christ. We as the children of God must endure afflictions and we must endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ! The Old Testament also has many examples of prophets suffering because God himself told them what to do and it involved suffering!

James 5:10-11
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Come let us Grow Together: The True sayings of God

Come let us Grow Together is a weekly series that deals with the many topical categories that exist within the Word of God. The purpose of this series is to grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in things pertaining to God.

According to the ETERNAL PURPOSE which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Eph 3:11) being predestinated ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE of him who worketh all things after THE COUNSEL OF HIS OWN WILL (Eph 1:11) God said, LET US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness. (Gen 1:26) When HE APPOINTED THE FOUNDATIONS of the earth: Then I WAS BY HIM, as one BROUGHT UP WITH HIM: and I WAS DAILY HIS DELIGHT, rejoicing ALWAYS BEFORE HIM; Rejoicing in the habitable part of HIS EARTH; and MY DELIGHTS were with THE SONS OF MEN. (Pro 8:29-31) THAT WHICH IS WITH the Almighty will I NOT CONCEAL. Behold, ALL YE YOURSELVES HAVE SEEN IT; why then are ye thus altogether vain? (Job 27:11-12) Said the WISDOM of God (Luke 11:49)

For the Lord giveth WISDOM: out of his mouth cometh KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING. (Prov 2:6) The FEAR of the Lord is THE BEGINNING of wisdom: and THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY IS UNDERSTANDING. (Prov 9:10) The LORD POSSESSED ME in the BEGINNING of his way, BEFORE his works of old. I WAS set up FROM EVERLASTING, from THE BEGINNING, or EVER the earth was. When there were no depths, I WAS BROUGHT FORTH; (Prov 8:22-24) These things SAITH THE AMEN, the faithful and true WITNESS, the BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD; (Rev 3:14)

TO WHOM THEN will ye LIKEN ME, or shall I be equal? SAITH THE HOLY ONE. LIFT UP YOUR EYES on high, and BEHOLD who hath CREATED these things, that bringeth out THEIR HOST BY NUMBER: he calleth them all BY NAMES by the GREATNESS OF HIS MIGHT, for that HE IS STRONG IN POWER; not one faileth. (Isa 40:25-26) TO WHOM will ye LIKEN ME, and MAKE ME EQUAL, and COMPARE ME, that we may be like? (Isa 46:5)

And he saith unto me, These are the TRUE SAYINGS OF GOD. (Rev 19:9) That which was FROM THE BEGINNING, which we have HEARD, which we have SEEN with our eyes, which we have LOOKED UPON, and our HANDS HAVE HANDLED, OF THE WORD OF LIFE; (For the life WAS MANIFESTED, and we have SEEN IT, and bear witness, and shew unto you that ETERNAL LIFE, which was WITH THE FATHER, and was MANIFESTED unto us;) (1 John 1:1-2) And WE KNOW that the Son of God is come, and hath GIVEN US AN UNDERSTANDING, that we MAY KNOW HIM that is true, and we are IN HIM that is true, even IN HIS SON Jesus Christ. THIS IS THE TRUE GOD, AND ETERNAL LIFE. (1 John 5:20)

Your Reasonable Service

Matthew 25:14-19, 24-30
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Question. Are you the profitable servant doing the will of our Father in heaven? Or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? “For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

You must be born again to inherit the kingdom of God it is your reasonable service!

John 3:1-6
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:14-17
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” However, this did not negate the fact that you were told in the beginning of the chapter “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

It is your reasonable service to find out what this means!

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness?

Luke 13:1-5
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

It is your reasonable service to repent of your sins!

Luke 9:23-25
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

It is your reasonable service to take up your cross daily and follow after Jesus the Christ!

Mark 16:15-18
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

It is your reasonable service to go and share the gospel with everybody! It is your reasonable service to baptized as a believer in Jesus the Christ!

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? It is your reasonable service to be baptized correctly and to teach everybody else to do the same!

Luke 24:45-49
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

It is your reasonable service to understand what the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is! Jesus just said that “that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem”.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the Holy Ghost was the promise of the Father that the disciples were waiting for in the city of Jerusalem!

Acts 2:36-39
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the correct way to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost was revealed both by Jesus saying, that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalemand the Apostle Peter and the rest of the Apostles being present understood the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is Jesus the Christ! It is your reasonable service to “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost“!

Are you the profitable servant who will keep the commandments of his Lord or the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness?

John 17:19-20
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

It is your reasonable service to follow after the teaching of Jesus the Christ and that of those “which shall believe on me through their word”!

Ephesians 2:18-22
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the Holy Spirit is not automatically received just because you believe in Jesus, have faith in Jesus, repented of your sins, and even were baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins!

Acts 8:12-17
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Are you the profitable servant or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? It is your reasonable service to understand the Holy Ghost was not yet given even after the believers with faith in Jesus Christ who “were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” had not yet received the Holy Spirit “For as yet he was fallen upon none of them”! What makes you any different than these believers in Jesus Christ that you are convinced you have received the Holy Spirit some other way? “And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Acts 19:1-6
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

It is your reasonable service to understand that the receiving of the Holy Spirit came after the Apostle Paul laid his hands upon them just like the receiving of the Holy Spirit came after the Apostle Peter and Apostle John laid hands upon the believers “and they received the Holy Ghost”!

Romans 8:9
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

It is your reasonable service to understand that “if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”! Are you the profitable servant doing the will of our Father in heaven? Or are you the unprofitable servant who went and hid the truth in unrighteousness? For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

Sanctification comes 1) by the truth 2) by the body of Christ 3) by the blood of Christ 4) by the washing of water 5) by the Spirit of Christ.

John 17:17
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Hebrews 10:10
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:19-20
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Ephesians 5:25-26
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Hebrews 10:22
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Romans 15:15-16
15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:9
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

In order for you to partake of this sanctification process given to us by God you must believe and obey the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the preaching of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 16:25-26
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

It is through the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection that we have access to the born again process of God. Which consists of being born of water and of the Spirit.

Luke 13:5
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Luke 24:46-47
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The sanctification process of God, as well as being born again of water and of the Spirit as Jesus instructed Nicodemus, and the preaching of repentance and remission of sins beginning at Jerusalem in Jesus’ name all find there fulfillment in the Apostle Peter’s words:

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Acts 2:38 is the fulfilling of the New Testament Covenant of God:

Hebrews 10:16-18
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Hebrews 10:14
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

John 7:37-39
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Is anyone thirsty? Is anyone ready to allow “rivers of living water” to flow “out of his belly“? Is anyone ready to Dance in the Rain!!!!

Acts 2:1-7
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Have ye received the Holy Ghost

The “rivers of living water” have now fallen “when the day of Pentecost was fully come”. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” They just received the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus!!!! And they could not forbear!!!! Anybody ready to have a Holy Ghost experience in your life? I’m Going to Dance in the Rain!!!! Anybody going to Dance in the Rain with me?

Acts 2:14-19
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose!!!! THIS IS THAT!!!! “which was spoken by the prophet Joel”!! THIS IS THAT!!!! Which Jesus spoke “out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water“!! Does anybody want some of THIS IS THAT!!!! Does anybody want the Lord Jesus to “pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh”? Let the Holy Ghost Rain fall upon us!!!! It’s time to desire to Dance in the Rain!!!!

Acts 8:14-17
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit is not automatically given to you upon repentance of your sins and even being “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” as we have just read!! Be not deceived!!!! The Apostles “prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.” However, they desired THIS IS THAT!!!! They needed THIS IS THAT!!!! You can’t make heaven your home without THIS IS THAT!!!! Jesus said, “out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water“!! Are rivers of living water flowing out of you as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance? Are you speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance!! BECAUSE THIS IS THAT!! AND WITHOUT THIS IS THAT YOU CAN’T SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!!!

“Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?” Have you been “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” for the remission of your sins? Again, we see that the Holy Ghost is not automatically given to you upon repentance of your sins and even being “baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus” as we have just read!!

Acts 10:1-8
1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

The Apostle Peter also has a vision.

Acts 10:9-16
9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

Acts 10:17-22
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

The Lord sent these men on behalf of Cornelius and the Lord told Peter to go with them doubting nothing. Peter was going to tell them all things commanded of him by God.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

Acts 10:25-28
25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

The understanding of the vision was revealed to the Apostle Peter. But God hath showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Acts 10:29-48
29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

All things THAT ARE COMMANDED thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

So what he done for the Jews He will do for the Gentiles.

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

The Apostle Peter preached the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to Cornelius and to his company.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

The Apostle Peter preached that they were commanded to preach and to testify that Jesus was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead, and Jesus was He whom the prophets gave witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Cornelius and his company were believers.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

This is so very important to understand.

Remember, an Angel of the Lord appeared before Cornelius and told him, “And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.” Then God showed the Apostle Peter a vision. “While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.”

Cornelius then tells Peter what the Angel told him and then says to the Apostle Peter, “Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.” When Peter heard these words he said, “Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:”

So the Apostle Peter was telling Cornelius and all present what they must do as commanded by God. While they heard the Word of God from the Apostle Peter the Holy Ghost fell upon all of them, “For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.”

“Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?”

Baptism was not an option but clearly a commandment. Even as it was for the Jews when the day of Pentecost had fully come. The people present asked Peter and the rest of the Apostles what they must do, even as Cornelius has asked the Apostle Peter what they must do.

And what they MUST DO WAS THE SAME THING:

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

This included the Gentiles, though it was not yet known. For God is no respecter of persons.

Acts 10:34-35
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Jesus Ascension

This captivity that Jesus led captive was that of death!

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. (Ezek 18:20)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Heb 2:14-15)

Jesus freed those that are born again from the power of death by dying as our substitute!

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Rev 1:18)

Set free from the bondage of death!

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 15:55-57)

Set free from the condemnation of sin if you are a born again Christian not following after the flesh, but after the Spirit!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Rm 8:1-4)

Jesus led death captive, and gave gifts unto men so that we could become born again and follow after the leading of the Spirit and not after the flesh!

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (Eph 2:14-16)

Jesus made both the Jew and the Gentile one new man in the body of Christ. “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances” “that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby”.

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one {this referring to Adam}; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation {this referring to Adam}; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners {this referring to Adam}, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rm 5:17-21)

Some of the gifts Jesus gave unto men when he led death captive!

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Eph 4:11-13)

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (1 Cor 12:1, 8-13)

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Eph 4:8)
